ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH, 2020

The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Make a Difference Day which was established by the magazine USA Weekend in 1980 as a day to help others. Each year millions of people nationwide participate in Make a Difference Day.
It’s the perfect opportunity to reach out to a school or youth group to see if you can help in their community. Even the smallest act can make a big difference.
Helping others and making a difference in the world will help make the world a better place by improving people’s lives. One person at a time, and one project at a tine, you can make a difference that will leave a lasting impact on the world.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
No act of kindness no matter how small is ever wasted.

I’m praying for one of my little granddaughter’s today, our little Sweet Sugar AB is sick. She has been hospitalized due to the results of blood tests she had due to running a fever that she couldn’t seem to get over. The test for Covoid and strep have come back negative. They put her in the hospital to try and find out what is wrong. She’d been on an antibody that wasn’t doing anything to help her. Hopefully they’ll find out soon what the trouble is so it can be fixed. Thank you for any and all prayers, they are appreciated.
We never know exactly what’s going to happen so we do the best we can as we go. Praying is the only thing I know to do to make a difference right now and I have plenty of prayers to say. I believe that prayers work and do make a difference.
Even though it’s hard to think of much else right now, I still have to eat so for my dinner tonight I’ll be having:
Broccoli Mac and Cheese Bake
This wasn’t supposed to be on the menu until next week, but I seem to have had a mix up and since I have the ingredients, it’s what I’ll make.
Nonstick cooking spray
12 oz. whole wheat pasta
12 oz fresh or frozen broccoli florets
2 Tbsp. butter
1/4 cup minced onion
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk
1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
salt and pepper to taste
2 cups cheddar cheese
1 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup bread crumbs
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Coat a 9 by 9 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Set a large pot of salted water to boil. Add pasta and broccoli together. Cook according to package directions for al dente.
I large skillet on medium heat, malt butter. Add onion and cook 1 minute. Whisk in flour and cook another minute. Whisk in milk and and broth. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat to medium and cook sauce about 5 minutes, or until smooth and thick. Season with salt and pepper.
Once sauce has thickened, remove from heat. Add cheddar, stirring until well blended. Add pasta and broccoli; mix well. Pour into prepared baking dish. Top with parmesan and breadcrumbs. Lightly coat top with cooking spray.
Bake for 20 minutes, then broil for 2 to 4 minus to get the bread crumbs golden.
Makes 8 one cup servings

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Everyone can make a difference, if they try.
MA, I know you have not seen my post yet... I was exposed to Covid this week and am lockdown until Election Day. I will pray daily for your granddaughter, and her doctors and family.
Oh, what distressing news! Like sweet blogger Anne says, "Seeing loved ones suffer in anyway is the scariest thing." Joining you in prayers for your granddaughter -- and all who love her.
Definitely will say prayers for your little granddaughter. Fevers of unknown origin are always scary until they find the cause of it. Hope the doctors can find the cause soon for it and the right medicine to get her feeling better and out of the hospital!
So true that everyone can make a difference and even the smallest thing they do can add up if all work together.
