ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is Frakenstein Friday which is held each year on the last Friday in October. and celebrates the birth of Frankenstein and its creator. Frainstein id a fictional character that first appeared in Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel Frankenstein.
People often mistakenly use the name Frinkenstin to refer to the hideous monster famously played by Boris Karloff in the 1931 film, but Victor Frankenstein never gives his creation a name. Read a chapter from the book or create a mad scientist Halloweek costume to celebrate today!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
From the famous novel of Frankenstein, let us learn the importance of knowledge and wisdom put together….Happy Frankenstein Day!
Author Unknown
I’ve used the picture of my grandson in his Frankenstein costume for many years now to celebrate this day. He is still the cutest Frankenstein I’ve ever seen. The other pictures are of some other of the grandchildren in their costumes from over the years.
We had another rainy day yesterday and it looks the same for today, but the good news it should clear up for tomorrow which is Halloween. This week has been pretty much a wash out as far as the weather goes.
Due to a mix up I had with the menu last week, my menu today has changed and I’ll be making
Pork Chops with Balsamic Braised Cabbage and Apples
Makes 4 servings
4 slices bacon, chopped
1 onion chopped
1 tsp. caraway seeds, optional
1 apple, sliced
1/2 small head red cabbage cored and shredded
1/2 c. balsamic vinegar
4 bone in pork chops
2 tsp olive oil
1/2 cup flat leaf parsley, chopped
1 tso, salt
3/4 tsp pepper
Cook bacon in Dutch one on medium heat until crisp. Use a slotted spoon to transfer to a paper towel..
Add onion and caraway seeds and cook, stirring occasionally for 6 minutes. Stir in apple slices and cabbage, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper . Cook covered , stirring occasionally until the cabbage is tender, 6 to 8 minutes.
Meanwhile season pork chops with salt and pepper. Heat oil in large skillet on medioum high and cook park until browned and just cooked through about 2 to 3 minutes each side.
Fold parsley and reserved bacon into cabbage and serve with pork.
This is good served with mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes which ever you choose.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Halloween is an opportunity to be really creative.
Judy Gold
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
8600 for cute and sometimes scary halloween costumes
8601. for light that scares away the monsters
8602. for grandchildren that always make me smile
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
