Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Weatherman's Day. This holiday honors weathermen, and woman who work hard to accurately predict the often fickle weather. Despite major technological advances and supercomputers, forecasting the weather is still a tricky, and ever changing business.
Knowing the weather is important in so many ways. It affect how we dress, where we go, and even if we go. Space launches are made or delayed depending upon the weather. And, knowing the weather can save lives. The most obvious example is knowing when and where hurricanes or tornados may hit.
Weatherman's Day commemorates the birth of John Jeffries, one of America's first weathermen. Jeffries was born on Feb 5, 1744. He kept weather records from 1774 to 1816.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The trouble with weather forecasting is that it’s right too often for us to ignore it and wrong too often for us to rely on it.
Patrick Young
Even though weather men do try to do their best, the weather can be full of surprises. Here at my house this week has been one just filled with surprises too, and not just the weather.
DS#3 and his wife announced they are expecting their 6th child come August this year and DS#1 and his wife let us know that they have bought a new house different from the one they had originally planned to have built.
With a large family like mine, there truly is never a dull moment and when you put the weather into the mix, my life is full of surprises. Each day I wake up in anticipation of what the day will bring, it never fails in that something new will happen. Life never ceases to amaze me.
I hope you all have a great day filled with only good surprises. Happy Thursday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Snowflakes are kisses from heaven.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. Sometimes it seems as if I’m repeating a lot of things that I’m thankful for, but no moment is really ever the same and every day is a new beginning. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2465.for DS#3 and his wife who are expecting their 6th child
2466. for life, always changing
2467. for men and women who predict the weather, a tough job for sure
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!

ADVICE FOR TODAY
Snowflakes are one of nature’s most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together.

How exciting for another grandchild Ma!!! That is always wonderful news to hear!! I'm not sure I could be a weatherman. I know they do their best to forecast the best they can, but it seems like people aren't happy with them if the weather doesn't go the way people want it to go.
Will say a prayer for your DSIL's dad.

Loved the quote about weather forecasting--and your photos. We had a few flurries this morning and are not sure what Sunday will bring. We have an open house scheduled here at our motherhouse with 250 people scheduled to come.
Will definitely pray for DSIL's dad today. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Love your advice for the day and congratulations on the impeding arrival of a new grandchild! How very wonderful! I feel for weather people. They get a lot of flack when things don't go as they have predicted. Over here that is more often than not as the weather is so very changeable! I think they are really special people! Add my prayers to the others for DSIL's Dad. Have a wonderful Friday! xoxo
