Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
February 7th is Wave All Your Fingers at Your Neighbor Day. It is the perfect opportunity to greet your neighbor with a big wave. But, to show your respect and appreciation on this very important day, you must wave with all of your fingers!
Without a doubt, this day was created to put a smile on your face, and upon your neighbors. It's intent is to be friendly and create better relations. We believe you should also use the term Neighbor loosely. Go out and greet everyone today with a big five fingers wave and don't forget to include a big, bright smile on your face!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better man.
Benjamin Franklin
You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your neighbors. If you are lucky, you have good neighbors. But some neighbors are not pleasant and can make your life miserable at times. If you have good neighbors, consider yourself blessed. Neighbors can play an important role in our community and our lives, and remember, you are a neighbor too.
I’m fortunate in the fact that my nearest neighbor is one my sisters. I’m sure I know her better than any other neighbor I’ve ever had and we are always here for each other and that is a blessing. I really don’t know many of my other neighbors up and down the street. Some tend to come go without even waving. Thankfully there are a few that do, and those have lived here just about as long or longer than I have. Good neighbors take time to talk and smile. They reach out to connect to you. Good neighbors' actions support community. A good neighbor looks out for others. I am blessed to have some good neighbors and am very thankful for them. Hope you do too!
The surgery for DSIL’s Dad was successful and for right now he is OK. Thank you for all the prayers and keep them coming, he still is on very thin ice as his doctor put it.
We are supposed to be snow free today, meaning no new snow will be falling and that is a blessing too. It’ll be cloudy but not as cold. We may reach 40 degrees! There is still plenty of snow on the ground though. I hope you all have a super Saturday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
A good neighbor is a blessing.
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. Sometimes it seems as if I’m repeating a lot of things that I’m thankful for, but no moment is really ever the same and every day is a new beginning. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2471. for the good neighbors that I have
2472. for no more snow today
2473. for friendly smiles and waves
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The duty of helping one's self in the highest sense involves the helping of one's neighbors.
Samuel Smiles
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

I am blessed with good neighbors here too. We learn that community takes everyone. You can't expect everyone to come to you to start friendships. You have to also make an effort to step out of your comfort zone. It might start with that wave you are talking about. Add a smile, and you've started something.
Great post!
Have a happy weekend!

In spite of everyone's busy schedules (many of us work full-time), we're blessed to have several great neighbors ... but didn't even realize it. When DH was diagnosed with lung cancer year before last we didn't tell many people - but the folks across the street started a card circulating - and pretty soon folks starting coming out of the woodwork!
Blame it on my years spent in the South, but I still like to wave - whether I know someone or not.
Glad to hear the surgery went well for DSIL's dad. We haven't met too many neighbors here yet; that might change as we move into spring and people are out more. Its a quiet neighborhood so that's a good thing :)
