Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
The first Friday the 13th of the year is Blame Someone Else Day. What a great time you can have on this day. Imagine all the problems, errors, and mistakes you could heap on someone else today. On this day you don't have to take responsibility, or the blame, for any faux pas on your part. On the downside, this day comes as a double edged sword. While you are busy putting the blame elsewhere, someone might just be putting the blame on you!
Any blame you place today, can come back to bite you tomorrow. After all...what comes around goes around.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Too often in life, something happens and we blame other people for us not being happy or satisfied or fulfilled. So the point is, we all have choices, and we make the choice to accept people or situations or to not accept situations.
Tom Brady
Here at my house there is truly no one else to put the blame on. Anything that happens here is my responsibility and I can truthfully say I’m the one that did it.
To me it’s never a good idea to put blame on others. We all need be responsible for what we do and for what we say. Playing the blame game is a waste of time. And time is too short to be wasted.
In my efforts to try out a new recipe every week this year and in honor of Valentines Day I’m going to try making some Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese frosting so I’m sharing the recipe with you all today.
Red Velvet Cake:
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1 ounce Red Food Color
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting:
1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons sour cream
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
1 16 ounce box confectioners’ sugar
Preheat oven to 350°F. For the Cake, grease and flour 2 nine inch round cake pans. Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
Beat butter and granulated sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed 5 minutes or until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time. Mix in sour cream, milk, food color and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until just blended. Do not overbeat. Pour batter into prepared pans.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pans; cool completely on wire rack. Cupcakes usually bake faster. Bake only about 15 minutes or until tooth pick comes out clean.
For the Frosting, beat cream cheese, butter, sour cream and vanilla in large bowl until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar until smooth. Fill and frost cooled cake with frosting.
This recipe sounds wonderful and there’s no one to blame but my self if it doesn’t turn out that way.
I hope you all have a fantastic Friday the 13th !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
When you blame others, you give up your power to change.
Robert Anthony
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. Sometimes it seems as if I’m repeating a lot of things that I’m thankful for, but no moment is really ever the same and every day is a new beginning. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

ADVICE FOR TODAY
Concern yourself more with accepting responsibility than with assigning blame. Let the possibilities inspire you more than the obstacles discourage you.
Ralph Marston
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Always good to take the blame for something we did indeed! We have another Friday the 13th next month, wonder if that has any special thing with it? Those cupcakes look good! I saw Red Velvet Oreos at the store last night; I'm not a big fan of red velvet, hubby and son likes it, so I was afraid to buy a whole bag of cookies; would have just wanted to try one of them.

Happy Valentine's Day, M.A.... and 35 days until spring... yeeha!!!
Happy Valentines Day Pam! My dad always told us that if we pointed our fingers at someone else three were pointing back at us. Also it takes two to tangle. We couldn't get away with anything, lol I have never had red velvet anything. xxoo
