PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
The morns are meeker than they were,
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.
The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on.
Emily Dickinson
I'm resolved not to let the short days and long nights get to me this year. The last few weeks my sisters and I have spent a rainy day going shopping and out to lunch. And I'm sure we'll still be getting together many more times. But now we may be looking for a nice day to go out on.
I've started on my Christmas projects and believe me once you get started the time flies by. I'm still knitting in the evenings and have lots of good books to read on my Kindle. There should be absolutely no reason for any November days to get me down.
Have a happy and blessed November everyone!
COUNTING THE DAYS
November comes
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.
With night coming early,
And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket
And frost by the gate.
The fires burn
And the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring.

Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…

Now how did I miss knowing it was "I am so thankful month"? Thanks MA for filling me in. And I'll give that recipe a try as well.
It's hard to believe it's November already. We're unusually lucky this year not to have any snow yet. But it's coming, so we're preparing. Guess I'll go have a peanut butter sandwich and a glass of milk - good old comfort food.
recipe sounds good. I just bought some honey in the mtns this weekend. My greatgrandmother was part Indian. Guess that is where my brown eyes came from.
