ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
NOVEMBER 2ND, 2011
It's WEDNESDAY!
WORLD COMMUNICATIONS WEEK
The first week of November is World Communication Week, observed by the International Society of Friendship and Goodwill. It stresses the importance of communication among the more than five billion human beings in the world who speak more than 3,000 languages and to promote communication by means of the international language,
Put it before them briefly so they will read it, clearly so they will appreciate it, picturesquely so they will remember it and, above all, accurately so they will be guided by its light.

NEW IN THE KITCHEN
National Deviled Eggs Day is today. The whole purpose of this day, is to make and eat Deviled Eggs. You can use your favorite recipe, or find a restaurant serving them in recognition of this day.
Make plans on getting your fill of Deviled Eggs on National Deviled Eggs Day!
This is a basic deviled egg recipe. You can do all sorts of variations. Try adding chives to the egg yolk mixture. Or, instead of bacon bits, put a green olive (whole or sliced) on top of each egg.
6 hardboiled eggs, pealed
1/4 cup mayo
1 tsp. ground mustard
salt and pepper to taste
real bacon bits
paprika
Carefully scoop out yolks of egg halves.
Set egg white halves aside
In bowl mix together with a fork the egg yolks, the mayo, ground mustard and salt and pepper.
Fill the empty egg white halves with the egg yolk mixture
Sprinkle with bacon bits on top
Sprinkle with a little paprika
Serve chilled
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible--the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family.
Virginia Satir
The main reason I started writing a daily newsletter was because I thought it was important to keep my family up to date on the goings on around home. I would talk to all of them on the phone, but sometimes would forget to mention that something had happened so with the e-mail sent daily, I'd not forget to let them know when something new has happened.
With the camera I have I can also include pictures, so they can see and hear about what's new here.
I think I've taken more pictures in the last few years than I ever did in my life. Before we had the ability to transfer pictures to the computer it meant you had to take them some place to be developed and then you had to put those pictures in albums and if you wanted to share a picture you had to put it in the mail for someone else to see it.
This month is supposed to be one of THANKFULNESS. So today I'm thankful for this internet age that makes keeping in touch so much easier.
COUNTING THE DAYS
... everyone who is human has something to express. Try not expressing yourself for twenty-four hours and see what happens. You will nearly burst. You will want to write a long letter, or draw a picture, or sing, or make a dress or a garden.

I am thankful for my computer, camera, and technology, too! It's a great way to communicate with family and friends. I remember when we wrote letters - and when long distant calls were too expensive. Now we can send a message or a pic almost instantly!
Your deviled egg recipe makes me think of Mama's wonderful eggs. No one can make them like she did!
