ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
NOVEMBER 8TH, 2011
It's TUESDAY!
National Parents as Teachers Day
Today is National Parents as Teachers Day, a reminder that parents are the primary teachers of children ages birth to five, the most important learning period of a person's life
Parents make a difference. They are their children’s first and best teachers. Parenting is one of the most difficult and challenging tasks especially in this present generation.
A baby encounters and first comes into contact their parents, and these are their first and best teachers. Babies start to learn as soon as they enter into the world. They absorb every action, sound and behavior of their parents and this is where the learning process starts
Parents teach children to walk, talk, and explore the world around them. They also teach them basic life skills such as how to eat using cutlery, how to get dressed, and how to appreciate the finer things in life. As well as this, they teach them respect, good manners, social interaction skills, and about emotions. Parents are there from day one to foster all these skills, and guide their children. They set the standard for their children to follow, and lead the example for them to learn from.
Being a parent may just be the toughest job there is, but it is also one of the most rewarding.

Protect them as they protect us.

selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

AROUND HOME
When our children no longer seek our advice, they still value our love. In every stage of parenting, it’s not only what we say but what we do that counts.
A parent's love never ends.
Kids live by their instincts openly and without hesitation. They are enthusiastic about life, eager to learn, and curious about everything.
Children add joy, purpose, and fulfillment to our lives. They bring us smiles, optimism, and cheerful attitudes. And given the chance, they will teach us valuable lessons about life.
Relationships with others are always more exciting and fulfilling than possessions.
Walk away from mean people. Kids have the ability to determine if someone is worth their time. Mean people? They just ignore them and walk away.
Wear clothing for its usefulness rather than as an attempt to impress others.
Live in the moment. It’s great to plan and dream — but let’s not forget to enjoy where we are at this very moment.
Judge people by their hearts and character, not by the meaningless externals of life.
When kids are dealt an unexpected hand they usually chuckle and work around the issue. There are some things in life we just can’t anticipate. Even with a great deal of planning, it’s very possible that life will throw us a curve ball. We need to greet life’s curve balls with a sense of good humor and proactive fascination.
We often think that material possessions will bring lasting excitement into our life, but most of the time they just end up getting in the way.
Kids harness their imagination to discover new things about both themselves and the world around them. It is our imagination that drives both our dreams and our curiosity to chase them. If we lose sight of our imagination, we will never see our dreams through to fruition.
The more possessions we own, the more of our time is required to care for them, clean them, organize and sort them
Kids admire, respect, and trust their friends unconditionally. They look forward to their arrival and miss them when they’re gone. Healthy personal relationships are one of the keys to happiness. Sure, life gets busier as we get older, but we should never let our busy schedules keep us from the people we care about most.
Turn off the television. Go outside. Live life, don’t just watch it.
Kids hit the ground running every morning with sheer enthusiasm. They don’t resist the idea of starting a new day. They are excited to be alive and absolutely pumped up for the new experiences that lie ahead. Life is much more rewarding and enjoyable when you quit resisting it. No day will ever be exactly like today. Don’t waste it.
Perhaps children are in this world because we as grown-ups have so much left to relearn…

I have always said that parents hold awesome power in their hands to direct another's life.
Having a good childhood is a blessing beyond compare. It totally effects the rest of one's life.

Sitting here reading your post and listening to Susan Boyle's newest album. I always get so much out of your words. I don't know how you manage to do it each day. You share so much with us. Thanks!! I think that being a mom was the greatest achievement in my life. I love my children dearly and always will. xxoo
