ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
NOVEMBER 4TH, 2011
It's FRIDAY!
USE YOUR COMMON SENSE DAY
Common Sense Day is always on Will Rogers' birthday. Rogers said, Common sense ain't all that common.
It is time we all go back to the rules we learned in kindergarten and commit to living our lives with a little more common sense.
Share everything.
Play fair.
Don’t hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don’t take things that aren’t yours.
Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life – learn some and think some and draw and paint
and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together.
Be aware of wonder.
Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup – they all die. So do we.
And then remember the Dick and Jane books and the first word you learned – the biggest word of all – LOOK.
My common sense tells me that every day should be Use Your Common Sense Day
Common sense and a sense of humor are the same thing, moving at different speeds. A sense of humor is just common sense, dancing.
William James

NATIONAL CANDY DAY
The days following Halloween often leave people wondering, what's to be done with all this candy? Well, National Candy Day serves as a reminder that candy is good food if eaten in moderation, and even has applications in recipes for desserts and other confections
Pretzels, candy-coated chocolates like M&Ms and raisins combine for a fine trail mix. Add them to a bowl of popcorn or dry cereal and toss in some peanuts for a snack mix the whole family will enjoy that isn't pure sugar.
Candy bars of all sorts can be broken up and substituted for chocolate chips in your favorite cookie recipe. Candy bar pieces also make for a great ice cream stir-in.

Beat cream cheese and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Add eggs and beat until combined. Add heavy cream and vanilla and continue beating on medium-high speed for 3 to 4 minutes until batter is light. Fold in candy bar pieces.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Common sense is something that we all have. And while some people probably have more than others, all of us, on occasion, have been guilty of not using it.
Common sense means paying attention to the obvious. This is not as easy as it sounds. We all have vivid imaginations, and we tend to get lost in our fantasies.
Common Sense is the sound and prudent judgment based on a simple perception of the situation or facts.
For me common sense is often as simple as putting on a coat when it is cold outside or to eat when you are hungry.
Today I'm thankful that I do have some COMMON SENSE.
COUNTING THE DAYS
