ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
JANUARY 2ND, 2010
It's SATURDAY…
The 2nd day of the New Year is here already. It’s cold and snowy around my house!
Thankfully it is a day that I have no place to go and little to do. I had a great time with the babes who came to New Years Dinner. We ate and then sat around playing a new game that DS#6 and his wife brought over.
I had a senior moment when I couldn’t find the sauerkraut that I’d purchased to have for dinner and searched the house over trying to find it. I know I’d bought some. Thankfully it was finally found in the car where it had rolled under the seat on the way home from the grocery store.
Everything went well with the dinner and DD was a great help doing dishes afterward too. They all took some leftovers home and I have some in the fridge too.
THINKING
On the 9th day of Christmas my true love gave to me...
9 Ladies Dancing = the nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit
As you begin a new year with expectations of your own, remember that your Heavenly Father holds similar hopes and dreams in His heart for you. Remember that no matter what's going on in your life, as God's child you never face the future alone
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
I really did use real plates and silverware and glassware too.
My children were surprised as they are used to the paper and plastic ones at our family get togethers.
ATTIRE FOR TODAY
Paper crowns and new year’s noise makers will now be put away until another year.
We all had lots of fun with them anyway. I’ll probably spend the day indoors as it’s very cold with a high of 20 degrees today so I’ll be keeping warm.
PRAYERS
Father, take my hand and guide me through the year to come.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
I love decorating for special days so the candles etc will probably stay out for awhile.
There’s no hurry putting things away now. I plan on taking the weekend for some good old R&R. Hope you can too!
FAMILY ALBUM
These noise makers come out every year. I’m not sure how long they’ve been around but they do still work. They have a little handle on the back and you twill them around to make the noise.
COUNTING THE DAYS
This is a Chinese fortune cookie that was dipped in chocolate. I’d never had them before but they were delicious!
We wish you a Merry Christmas!
76 DAYS UNTIL SPRING !
104 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
ma
