For Thursday, January 7th, 2010
a pictorial journal
ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
JANUARY 7TH, 2010
It's THURSDAY…
Unlike the picture above we will not see the sun come up over the hill this morning. We will be seeing more snow they say. One of the worst storms yet they say. This morning should be ok traveling into work, but by the time I head home it maybe a little tricky. The whole state is under this winter weather advisory. Heavy snow is on the way!
Tomorrow afternoon is my appointment with the SS people so I’m hoping it’s not so bad on Friday. They say Lake Effect snow east of us. We’ll see…
Take good care all!
THINKING
The mission of Jesus is so clear. He has come to show us how to love;
how to love those who most in need of love. Sometimes the poorest, neediest person, is the person in our own homes, that we have the least patience with. We can't say we love God and ignore the ones we’re called to love.
May we have the light and the grace of this week, to love more and more, starting out very close to home.
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Our Princess was busy here fixing us a meal for her 4-H project. I’m hoping she comes up with some more this coming camping season too. We always eat well no matter who cooks.
Here’s something to consider next time you want to do some outdoor cooking
FOIL DINNER
1/4 lbs Ground beef
1 Carrot, sliced
1 Potatoes, sliced
Small onion, diced
Seasonings
Butter
Heavy duty aluminum foil
Layer all ingredients in the center of a piece of aluminum foil. Season to taste. Top with butter. Fold foil and secure tightly. Leave room for expansion. Place packet on hot coals for approx. 20-30 minutes. Turn and rotate often.
Be Creative -- Use various meats, vegetables, seasonings and sauces etc.
PRAYERS
Lord, You call me to see with new eyes, those who are in my life and ask me to love them as you love me. touch my heart and help me to open it to those who most annoy me, those who are hardest for me to love.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
It would be great to have a fireplace to warm my toes at right now. The weather has been terrible and it’s only going to get worse they say. Just when we think we are fed up with winter, we find it is far from finished with us.
FAMILY ALBUM
Here is our Prince Charming, Our Sweetheart and Our Princess sitting in front of the sign for our favorite Cheese factory. We go there when we are camping and I sure am looking forward to another visit.
COUNTING THE DAYS
Plant lettuce, peas, and spinach when lilacs are in first leaf.
71 DAYS UNTIL SPRING !
99 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
ma

That foil dinner sounds like something I used to make back when I was a girl guide and we were camping. it always tasted so good. I hope that you have a safe trip home from work! xxoo
