For Sunday, January 10th, 2010
a pictorial journal
ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
It's SUNDAY…
It was a very busy day yesterday and today the pictures are either from the baby shower or the January birthday celebration that was at DS#5’s house after the shower. It was so good seeing everyone. I’m thankful all were able to travel safely and be together.
The cute water bottles were done up by DDIL#6’s sister. She really put a lot in to decorating for the shower and did a great job of it too.
Here is DDIL#6 with her bottle of water specially prepared for her shower.
THINKING
We humans can make idols out of just about anything! God understands this and it's why He gave us our first commandment. So, give God first place in your heart and your life today because you belong to Him, and with Him and in Him you'll need to search no more.
God is Love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him

Our Princess, DS#6 and Our Star
Our January birthday people blew out the candles on the cake and were waving away the smoke from all the candles. Between the 3 of them they equal 50 years, but there were not that many candles on the cake.
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Here is a quick and easy thing to have for dinner on a cold night
Chipped Beef on Toast
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups warm milk
1 (8 ounce) jar dried beef
1 pinch cayenne pepper optional
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Whisk in flour all at once to form a roux. Whisk in milk, a little at a time, increase heat to medium-high, and cook, stirring, until thickened. Bring to a boil, stir in beef and cayenne, heat through and serve over toast
It can also be made with 3/4 pound browned, drained hamburger.
Great comfort food!
PRAYERS
Dear Lord, we know that your ways are higher than ours. Give us the faith to follow your direction even when we fail to understand.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
DDIL#6, DDIL#5, DD, DDIL#1 and our Princess!
AROUND HOME
We girls had a lot of fun yesterday and I love being able to get together with all of them. The week ahead will be a pretty quiet one compared to the last few. There is nothing on my calendar but work.
