ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
JANUARY 28th, 2010
It's THURSDAY!
Thankfully we made it over the Hump and are now sliding right into the weekend once more. Yesterday I’m happy to say we had more sun than clouds. It was a thing of beauty to be sure. Although the cold temps continue just to see the sunshine was wonderful.
I got out at lunch time yesterday and browsed around one of my favorite department stores. Sadly I didn’t buy a thing. There were just no good sales on anything that appealed to me. Maybe today I’ll check out the craft store at lunch time. They may have something there that will appeal to me. Not that I need anything, but I get my exercise walking about for almost an hour so that is a good thing.
THINKING
Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, Today is a gift.
We should never think we deserve to wake up, live another day, breathe, walk, sing, smile, or pray. These and millions of other things are all gifts from God as He constantly pours out His love on us. We've done nothing to merit these blessings and ought not to take them as merited. Our blessings have not been caused by our commendable conduct but by the Lord's unconditional love for us
Who am I, Lord God, and who are the members of my house, that You have brought me to this point

NEW IN THE KITCHEN
SIGNS FOUND IN KITCHENS
A clean kitchen is the sign of a wasted life.
A clean house is a sign of a misspent life.
Gardening forever . . . Housework, never!

PRAYERS
Jesus, teach me by Your word and help me to grow in faith and love
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AMEN
AROUND HOME
The days are really getting longer now. It was almost 6 o’clock before it was truly dark out last evening. Still when it does get dark, I feel like the day is done for me.
I’ve just been enjoying going to bed a little earlier and reading those books I got at the library last Saturday.
By the time Spring gets here there will be much to do outside so I’m hoping to get the inside stuff done by then. If I don’t I’m sure it’ll wait as I’ll be outside when I can. Cabin fever has hit me big time for sure.

COUNTING THE DAYS
Imagine there is a bank account that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day.
Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course?
Each of us has such a bank. It's name is TIME.
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds.
Every night it writes off as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to a good purpose.
It carries over no balance. It allows no over draft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day.
If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no drawing against tomorrow.
You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness and success!
The clock is running!! Make the most of today
50 DAYS UNTIL SPRING !
78 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
63 DAYS UNTIL MA RETIRES
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
Ma

" Counting The Days" I realy enjoyed reading.I must be such a dull person Ma because I do admit I love my home neat and tidy, but also love to see it mess when the Grandchildren have been over.LOL!!I think if I have enough energy later today,I might just take a ride to town and have a browse around.Iv'e not been able to get outto any sales as yet,due to the bad weather. So I have forgotten what it feels like.My local store is only a tiny shop with limited foodstuff. Also I do suffer a phobia of crowds when I am alone, which I promised myself in the New Year I would try to overcome.I'm so happy you made it over the hump again.Lets hope the next couple of days are good ones for you.Cabin fever is kicking in for me too,Beach Cabin LOL!!Looking forward to visiting the holiday home as you are.Praying for an easy workday for you.Safe Journeys.Take Care God Bless Kath.
Love your kitchen signs! So true! No weekend for me this week. I have to work straight through. Dinner party for 20 on Friday night, Christening Luncheon for 30 on Saturday and brunch for 20 on Sunday. Fun and games! I do enjoy the cooking part. It's the standing for hours on end and all the cleaning up after that I don't like! (Imagine 3 goblest times 3o and all by hand! not to mention the glasses they have their coctails in before hand. 30 lay plates, dinner plates, etc. etc. It's horrible! and all by hand as it is crystal and china . . . ) calgon take me away!!
