Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
The first Saturday in December is always National Earmuff Day which celebrates a warm invention...the ear muff! People in cold climates can really appreciate this day. And, they are ever so thankful to the person who created the ear muff. If you live in Florida, you might not even know what an ear muff is.
Ear muffs keep your ears warm, and protect you from ear infections and earaches resulting from icy cold wind and weather. Manufacturers have responded to their popularity with a variety of designs and colors, making one to fit almost anyone's personality.
It is really easy to celebrate Ear Muff Day.... just wear your ear muffs!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.
Edith Sitwell
It looks like I won’t be needing any earmuffs here today. It is supposed to be one of the nicest days of the whole week. Once we warm up, we’ll be right around 50. Right now though, it is only 32 degrees. I’m going to some craft shows with my sisters today and it should be a wonderful day to be out and about.
I’m not a big fan of winter and love this time of year before the ice and snow set in and temps rarely go above freezing. Winter is not far away at all though and I’ve been thinking about what there is to love about it. When it’s dreary and depressing and cold and miserable outside, you need something good to think about. I will keep this list handy to help me on those bitter cold days when it takes me 2 hours just to work up the courage to leave the warmth of my house.
Turtle neck sweaters.
Hot chocolate.
Pajama days.
Christmas trees.
Hot apple cider.
Christmas.
Winter boots.
Egg nog.
Christmas carols.
Homemade soup.
Fuzzy socks.
Comfort food.
Slippers.
Candy canes.
Christmas lights.
Marshmallows.
Bubble baths.
Warm pajamas.
Ear muffs.
Gingerbread houses.
Peppermint bark.
No humidity.
Tress covered in snow. They are pretty to look at
Scarves.
They say there is power in positive thinking !
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
A ray of sunshine, a balmy breeze
Are a gift from God above,
And He also gives us faithful friends.
To warm our hearts with love.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
19 Days Until Christmas
Advent tip for today: String a popcorn garland for the tree inside your house and one for the tree outside too. The birds will appreciate it too !
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
A kind word can warm three months of winter.
Proverb
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Goodness, I've not thought of earmuffs in years! Growing up in the Rockies, I'd ask for - and receive - several sets each year ... which mysteriously went missing a few weeks later. Those ear pieces' metal interior coil-thingies were so painful!
Tho' it's warming to the mid-70's in Phoenix, your Christmas list of 'favorite things' makes me smile. (Especially the egg nog!)
Hope time spent with yours sisters today is great fun!
Sounds like fun with the craft shows :) Always nice to see how creative some people can be :)
I don't remember ear muffs growing up, but I know we always had a scarf or some other type of hat that covered our ears when we left home on cold mornings. Good to cover them up indeed!
And you are right, Ma, there is power in positive thinking, so its good you assembled that list you did for the cold days ahead :)
