Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Egg Nog Day, which comes but once a year. It celebrates a special, traditional holiday drink. The timing couldn't be any better-- the day before Christmas--- Christmas Eve!
Egg Nog is a seasonal holiday drink. It appears just before Thanksgiving, and is enjoyed by many at the Thanksgiving meal. Consumption then takes a break until the December holidays are in full swing. Consumption of egg nog peaks on Christmas Eve. By the New Year, it is no longer available in stores. If you want eggnog after New Year's you will likely have to make it yourself.
Happy Christmas Eve and happy Egg Nog Day !

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Christmas Eve was a night of song that wrapped itself about you like a shawl. But it warmed more than your body. It warmed your heart… filled it, too, with a melody that would last forever.
Bess Alrich
Christmas Eve has special meaning for most of us. This is a time for my family to gather and go to church together. They won’t all be there of course, but they’re always as close by as my heart as it there that I keep then. Sometimes we go on Christmas Day but it is much easier on the little ones if they can stay home on Christmas morning and enjoy their gifts.
It’s a quiet time here at my house as I won’t be doing any celebrating until Sunday when we gather for our Christmas feast. Finally everything is wrapped, sent and stamped and on its way and I’m more tired than anything. Now I can just sit back and relax and enjoy my Egg Nog!
The pictures today are mostly of my youngest granddaughter, our little Darling, her family and their elf on the shelf.
I hope you all have a GREAT Christmas Eve. Happy Thursday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Christmas is the perfect time to celebrate the love of God and family and to create memories that will last forever. Jesus is God's perfect, indescribable gift. The amazing thing is that not only are we able to receive this gift, but we are able to share it with others on Christmas and every other day of the year.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3433. for a few days now to rest and relax
3434. for Egg Nog, it’s creamy and delicious
3435. for ‘silent’ nights which make for ‘holy’ nights
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
May you have the gladness of Christmas which is hope;
The spirit of Christmas which is peace;
The heart of Christmas which is love.

How sweet the little one's pictures and the family's one :) Too cute with the elf up side down :)
I like a glass of eggnog around the holidays. A great tradition I think :)
Glad to hear everything is done at your place, Ma, and you can get some rest before your family gathering this weekend.

OK, this seals it! :) I resisted sipping any egg-nog when hubby brought some at Thanksgiving.
We've got to run to Target in a bit, so I'm going to tell my diet conscious to just shut up already.
That image of Little Darling with her elf is adorable!!!
