Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Letter Writing Day. For hundreds of years communication took place through just a couple of ways, you either sat down and had a conversation with someone or you wrote your thoughts and feelings down on a letter and had it delivered to them by courier. The nature of letters made them incredibly intimate, as each carried the indelible mark of its creator. Everything from the subtle scents of your home and perfume, to snippings from your garden could be included in a mailed letter. Digital media just doesn’t quite carry the same personal level as this old method, and Letter Writing Day is your opportunity to remember the wonders of the hand written word.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart.
Phyllis Theroux
Like most people today, my letter writing is done by email and it’s typed out on the computer instead of being written by hand. This time of year I used to write out a Christmas letter and slip it in with my Christmas cards that I sent out to family and friends. Anymore I just write a little note on each card. But it is fun to read the Christmas letters that I do get and catch up on what has happened throughout the year with others.
This is also the time of year when children write out letters to Santa and send them off to the North Pole. It’s important to tell Santa just how good you’ve been all year when sending off those letters. Santa is making his list and checking it twice you know.
It looks like we’ll enjoy a few more days of mild weather here this week. Today is supposed to be in the 40’s and I see a few days in the 50’s coming our way too. We’ve been blessed with some wonderful sunrises and that is what you are seeing in my pictures today.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
What a wonderful thing is the mail, capable of conveying across continents a warm human hand clasp.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3379. for letters, they do mean a lot
3380. for the gentle mild weather we’ve had
3381. for our mailmen and women, they do an exceptional job every day of the year
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
17 Days Until Christmas
Advent tip for today: Write a letter to Jesus, thanking him for the gifts you received throughout the year.
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
A friendship can weather most things and thrive in thin soil; but it needs a little mulch of letters and phone calls and small, silly presents every so often - just to save it from drying out completely.
Pam Brown
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Such pretty sunrises :) Since my handwriting over the years has become more sloppy and it seems to hurt my wrist with writing, but not typing, I tend to type my letters out that I send, and like you, they go email. I think for me I can write them quicker too by typing them out, so the recipients of them get a long letter that way :) I do like to catch up too with people through cards this time of year too :) We are supposed to have weather into the high 60's this week; that will be nice. I fear our gas bill for our heater this month; running overtime some days it seems.
