Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today marks the 40th anniversary of International Women's Day. Mother, sisters, wives, girlfriends and fiancees…what would we ever do without them? Nobody can honestly say we don’t owe an enormous amount to the women in our lives, from the mothers who made us chicken soup when we were sick as children, to the sisters who helped us decide what to wear on our first date, to the wives who somehow manage to juggle both a career and a family, never missing a beat.
Women’s Day is all about celebrating these incredible people and showing them how much we love, respect and value them. This holiday is perhaps especially important in parts of the world where women are still forced to deal with shocking inequality on a daily basis and is meant to raise awareness of the challenges and struggles faced by these women. Women’s Day celebrates women’s history, highlighting key events, milestones and achievements, and aims to further promote and raise awareness of women’s rights and to achieve equal opportunity status in all walks of life.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Not only is women's work never done, the definition keeps changing.
Bill Copeland
Today is a great day to celebrate being a woman, to celebrate being who I am. It’s my birthday and I’m glad to say I made it through another year. Just the fact that I’m alive is worth celebrating!
I had quite a scare the other morning when I was on my computer. Suddenly my screen went totally blank and black. I feared it was the end of my computer. I then noticed my charger had become unplugged. Thankfully it was only the fact that I’d completely drained my battery and not the fact the computer had died. Once it got plugged in, my laptop worked just fine.
On the Bright Side they do say it is good to let your battery run down now and then and then recharge it.
I hope you all remembered to set your clocks ahead one hour as daylight savings time starts today. If not you are running late by an hour already. Spring forward !
It’s the day to rest and relax here at my house. Hope you all recharge and have wonderful Sunday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
There are men and women who make the world better just by being the kind of people they are. They have the gift of kindness or courage or loyalty or integrity. It really matters very little whether they are behind the wheel of a truck or running a business or bringing up a family. They teach the truth by living it.
James A. Garfield
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
2559. for another 365 day trip around the sun
2560. for all the wonderful women in my life
2561. for a computer that still works
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

Happy birthday Ma!!! I love your picture with your coffee cup :)
That would be a scare about the computer; glad it didn't require a big fix :)
We made the clam chowder soup you had as a recipe a few weeks back. We made it last night. Delicious!!! And enough for leftovers for a few days too :)

Happy Birthday Ma!!! That's a nice picture of you. We are having a beautiful day here in Alabama. I just had to get out and picked up some pine cones. Take care.
Lovin' this picture ... that's some coffee mug!
Glad your computer 'scare' wasn't anything serious!
12 days til spring, 12 days til spring, I'm repeating it like a mantra. Happy Women's Day!
Many happy returns of your day!
Happy Birthday Pam! (A bit late I know, but I do hope you had a gone one!) Love the photo of you with your coffee cup! What a cheerful sight! I can remember when that song by Helen Reddy was popular, I am woman . . . long time ago now. I was just a teenager! I am almost a Senior now! Time flies when you're having fun! Glad your comp scare was nothing too bad. xoxo
