WELCOME MARCH !
Winds of March, we welcome you,
There is work for you to do.
Work and play and blow all day,
Blow the winter cold away.
March is Irish American Month, Music in Our Schools Month, National Craft Month, National Frozen Food Month, National Irish American Heritage Month- designated by Congress in 1995, National Nutrition Month, National Peanut Month, National Women's History Month, Red Cross Month and Social Workers Month
March 1st is a sticky day. It’s National Peanut Butter Lover's Day. We salute America's favorite sandwich spread, peanut butter. Smooth Peanut Butter is by far the most popular. Crunchy peanut butter is also on the market, and is enjoyed by many. Peanut Butter is not limited to a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich. It's popular on crackers, and celery. It is also used in recipes for cookies and snacks. And, don't forget peanut butter candies, too!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
March is an in between month,
When wintry winds are high.
But milder days remind us all,
Spring's coming by and by.
March is known as the windy month. It’s been terribly windy and snowy here for most of the winter. I hope at least that the March winds are warmer than the ones we’ve experience so far. March is coming in like a lion today with another winter storm. We may see another 3-5 inches of snow.
I’ve discovered that it is easy to make your own Peanut Butter. Here's how....
2 cups roasted shelled, unsalted peanuts
1 tablespoon peanut oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
Place peanuts, oil, and salt into a blender or food processor.
Blend well, until desired texture is reached.
Place peanut butter in airtight container.
For crunchy peanut butter, add 1/4 cup of peanuts and blend again, but, for just a short burst or two. The oil can separate from the peanuts during storage. Simply stir and serve.
If I knew it was this easy, I'd probably have made my own Peanut Butter years ago.
I hope you all have a restful and relaxing Sunday. It looks like I won’t be doing much besides shoveling snow. Take good care all. Stay safe and stay warm !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
O, wind, if winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.
Jim Rohn
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I think I will have a peanut butter sandwich today in honor of its day :)
You seem to be getting a lot of exercise shoveling snow this winter, Ma. I hope March doesn't prove to be another wet month for you all!
betty
I love a peanut butter sandwich and this is the day to have one. I hope your snow is about gone and you can put away the shovel. I think from now on we will have mild to hot weather here in this parts of Alabama. Take care.
I've a real love affair with peanut butter ... to the point I used to travel everywhere with it!
Once, on a business trip a lady from Australia noted my jar of JIF and squealed, "Ooooh, you've peanut paste!" The two of us sat down with our pastic cutlery and enjoyed a spoonful right then and there!
