Life is a Special Occasion!

March 12th celebrates National Plant a Flower Day. Each year this day is dedicated to the planting of flowers and looking forward to the spring season. Flower gardening has become a hobby to many, young and old, and National Plant a Flower Day is a start to the new season each year.
In honor of this fragrant and colorful holiday, today is the day to get down and get a little dirty! It’s time to get your green thumb on!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Flowers always make people better, happier and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine to the soul.
Luther Burbank
Though some states, including Ohio, are still dealing with cold temperatures and other challenges that prevent us from planting flowers outside, there are ways to start the project indoors.
If the long, cold winter has been glooming you out, planting a few blooms, or blooms to be, is sure to get you and the family excited for spring. Around here it is near impossible to be planting anything out side right now. But the birds outside are doing a good job of scattering the seeds. Every year some sunflower seeds from their bird feeders manage to take root in the ground and bloom later on. I keep a flower pot hanging underneath one of my feeders to catch the seeds and often have flowers blooming there in the summer. When the sunflowers are done blooming they provide more food for the birds too. The pictures today are from last summer.
A sunflower seed contains the print for what will be a beautiful plant come summer. The seed sprouts, the stem and leaves grow, and a brilliant bloom unfolds with new seeds.
Think Spring ! It will soon be here !
Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS

2572. for sunflower seeds, good to eat and easy to grow
2573. for the birds at the feeders, they are good at scattering seeds and fun to watch

in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but, scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.
Joseph Addison
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

I've noticed some flowers are starting to poke out here, but we haven't had the cold like you guys have, Ma. I think I'd be tempted to walk around the garden and nursery shop at a store and get inspired by flowers on this flower day!

I have noticed that some of our trees are budding out, and grass looks like it might be turning green. I’m hoping the cold weather here has moved on so I can put out some new plants. Take care.
