Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Each year on the 7th day of March, National Be Heard Day is celebrated across the country. This day was created as a day to be dedicated to the over 145 million small businesses in the United States that are struggling to break through the big business dominated times. Now is the time for these small businesses to be heard.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Stay true to yourself and never let go, because the moment you do is the moment you submit to the things that people tell you and want you to be, not being who you want to be; not being you.

There are truly few small businesses in our area any more. The big chain stores have taken over. The same stores seem to be in most any town you go. But it seems that we find the best merchandise and the best service is found in the small out of the way little family run shops. They are hard to find, but they do still exist.
I’ve found that it’s not only in business, but in life, the little guy is always the last to be heard. We need to remember that a meaningful life is not being rich, being popular, being highly educated or being perfect. It Is about being real, being humble, being strong and being able to share ourselves and touch the lives of others. It is only then that we could have a full, happy and contented life.
We’ve been down below freezing the last couple of days but today they say we’ll be in the upper 30’s. And that is only the beginning of a much warmer spell for us. In the long range forecast I saw temps bordering 50 next week. That will be a heat wave for us for sure. It’s been a long long time since we saw a 50 degree day. I’m sure it won’t last but the good news is Spring is almost here !
Today is going to be the 2nd day of my 3 day birthday celebration . Tomorrow is my actual birthday. I’ll be spending the day with some of my children. Hopefully I’ll have some pictures to share with you all later on. I’m not sure yet what we’ll be doing, but one way other other I know it’ll be fun.
The pictures of the sunrise were taken this time last year. We lost the tree this past year and it’s good to have a picture of it. We do miss the pussy willow catkins that always popped out this time of year.
I hope you all have a super Saturday !
FINAL WARNING !
Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed tonight !
Sunday, March 8th, Daylight Savings time returns!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Better to lose count while naming your blessings than to lose your blessings to counting your troubles.
Maltbie D. Babcock
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
2556. for another birthday celebration
2557. for ears to listen with, sometimes more important than being heard
2558. for hours spent with family, always good
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed. But when we are silent, we are still afraid. So it is better to speak.
Audre Lorde
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Such a magnificient looking tree! Sorry it got lost!!
We have been trying to check out local restaurants here rather than the big chains and have been enjoying our adventures doing so! It is so true there's not that many small businesses any more, a shame I do believe!
How fun too that your birthday celebrations are spread out over a few days :)

HAPPY (early) Birthday!!!
If price - or distance - isn't a deal-breaker, I'll always opt to support the small businessman/woman.
Off the top of my head, I can think of 3 once-popular destinations that tried to grow too quickly and either went out of business, or simply lost what it was that made them great in the first place.
Our clocks don't go forward until the end of March. I wish they would just leave time as it is without any changes. Small businesses are closing down here left right and centre. They can't compete with the larger chains. It's sad to see. I think these small shops are the heart of communities and when they are gone, well, the heart is gone. xoxo
