Life is a Special Occasion!

March 19th is Swallows Return to San Juan Capistrano Day. The swallows of Capistrano are a romantic piece of Old California history. According to legend, cliff swallows return to nest at Mission San Juan Capistrano on March 19th, St. Joseph's Day, returning from their winter vacation spot 6,000 miles south in Goya, Corrientes, Argentina.
Every March 19th is a day of celebration, with food, music, and dance.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Spring is nature’s way of saying, Let’s party!
Robin Williams
The swallows returning is another sign that Spring is coming. Officially it will begin tomorrow, but it is to be cooler here so it won’t feel very spring like. Still and all, it will be better than it was a month ago. At least there are no 0 degree days in the forecast.
Lots of people are gearing up for Spring break around here. Many will travel to warmer climates just so they can get away from our cold weather. Here at my house, Spring break means we do have a break from the snow.
National Chocolate Caramel Day is also celebrated annually on March 19th. This definitely puts a smile on most people’s face and immediately makes one hungry for some chocolate caramel candy, cake, cheesecake, ice cream, pudding, or any of the other delicious treats made with this great combination
I’ll be celebrating with some Salty Caramel Ice Cream topped with some Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup and thinking Spring. The tulips on the table, shown in the picture above, were a gift for my birthday and will be planted outside. They are a gift that will keep on giving.
I hope you all a great day ! Happy Thursday
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Spring shows what God can do with a drab and dirty world.
Virgil A. Kraft
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
2592. for caramel and chocolate, a great combination
2593. for the swallows, that remind us Spring is on the way
2594. for a break from the snow
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another. The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month.

Great post. I especially like the three things each day to be grateful for.
I started keeping a gratitude journal several years ago and it changed my life.
Have a wonderful day. Thanks always for your kind comments.

How pretty with the tulips!! I see they are just starting to bloom here. Yum with the chocolate caramel and how you plan to celebrate today with a bit of ice cream, Ma!
I was on someone's blog today that lives in Nova Scotia. They had gotten 24 inches of snow the other day! Spring will be late arriving there I think!
betty
Your tulips are gorgeous Pam. You have me wanting icecream and it's only 9 am!! Have a lovely day! xoxo
