March 29th, 2015 is Palm Sunday. This Christian observance falls on the Sunday before Easter and is the sixth and last Sunday of Lent, which began on Ash Wednesday. The beginning of Holy Week, Palm Sunday marks the day when Christ rode into Jerusalem a week before his death and resurrection and was greeted by its people, who strewed cloaks and tree branches along his path to honor him as their king.
Holy Week encompasses the 7 days prior to Easter. It begins on Palm Sunday and includes Holy Thursday, also known as Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and ends at midnight on Holy Saturday. At the end of Holy Week is Easter Sunday with the celebration of Jesus rising from the tomb.
It’s a day to consider carefully, how one man has continued to change the lives of all, from a short 33 years of life on this Earth.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Before
and behind,
crying, hosanna,
hosanna in the highest,
the crowds lay down their cloaks,
and cut leafy branches from the fields,
and made way for you to enter Jerusalem.
Jesus of Nazareth, you are joy for us.
Our God who leads us to grace.
Our king crowned with thorns,
our beloved, our hero,
all the way to
the cross.
And to
our hearts!
Hosanna!
Just sharing a little story with you all today. A little boy missed out on church one Palm Sunday. His mother stayed home to watch over him. When dad came home, there he was, sick on the couch. When he noticed dad come in with a huge palm branch in his hand, he was curious and asked, Dad, what’s up with that palm branch?
His dad said, It’s Palm Sunday, son! You see, when Jesus came into town, everybody waved these Palm Branches to honor him, so we all got Palm Branches today.
The boy was upset because he missed the celebration and he said, Just my luck, dad! The one Sunday I miss is the Sunday that Jesus shows up!
The good news for us is that Jesus shows up every day.
We had a great family celebration yesterday and I’d like to thank DS#3 and his wife for hosting a wonderful family get together. I’m a bit tired out today but will soon be off to church and will get my palm branch to bring home. Christ is our King and the palms remind us to carry our cross patiently so we may share Christ's Easter glory.
I hope you all have a restful and relaxing Sunday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, Hosanna to the Son of David!. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!
Matthew 21:9
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
2622. for a day to reflect and to rest
2623. for a wonderful family celebration, we celebrated Easter as a family yesterday
2624. for palms that remind us of Christ’s victory
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Palm Sunday is like a glimpse of Easter. It's a little bit joyful after being somber during Lent.

I hope you have a BLESSED day!! So glad you were able to get together with the family!! Family time is wonderful!!
The little children at church sang a song today for Palm Sunday. They had palm branches they were supposed to wave when they sang the Hosanna anthem of the song. Some little ones got a bit exuberant in their wavings of the palm branches; so cute to see :)
Glad you had a great family get together, Ma! I hope you had a chance to get a little rest and rested up this afternoon!
