Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Celebrated annually on March 21st, today is National Common Courtesy Day. This is a day that is hopefully practiced, by us all, without even thinking about it. Politeness and consideration for others abound on Common Courtesy Day. Say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’, hold doors open for others, and consider the feelings and perceptions of those around you throughout the day.
Common Courtesy… isn't always so common.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you — not because they are nice, but because you are.
Author Unknown
Kindness and courtesy really do go a long way and are noticed by others even if you do not realize it. It is easy to let someone in front of you in traffic, open a door for someone, give someone a hand with their groceries, give up your seat on the bus to someone who might need it, say ‘hello' and shake a hand when you meet someone and remember to say ‘goodbye' and the list could go on and on.
When we quit thinking about ourselves long enough to think of others - great things happen. It is much better to give than to receive.
REMEMBER: It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.
Today is also Corn Dog Day and I found this quick and easy way to make them
Corn Dog Mini’s
1 box, 8.5 ounces, corn muffin mix
1 egg
1 can, 10 3/4 ounces, Condensed Cheddar Cheese Soup
4 hot dogs, cut crosswise in thirds
Heat the oven to 400°F. Lightly grease 12 muffin pan cups.
Stir the corn muffin mix, egg and soup in a medium bowl. Spoon about 3 tablespoons batter into each muffin pan cup. Top each with 1 piece hot dog, placed lengthwise.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the minis are golden brown. Let the minis cool in the pan on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Remove the minis from the pan.
I happened to have some mini hot dogs and will use those instead of cutting a regular size hot dog into pieces.
I hope you all have a super Saturday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude is the most exquisite form of courtesy.
Jacques Maritain,
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
2598. for corn dogs, easy to make
2599. for the magic words, please and thank you, they do work wonders
2600. for a yummy bacon and cheese croissant for breakfast this morning
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
He who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
St. Basil
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

I love your quotes today, and especially St. Basil's.
I can't eat corn dogs, isn't that funny? I just can't get them down!
Nice to know 'common courtesy' isn't really dead and buried. Just the other day DH and I were following a young mother and her 2 little boys into a restaurant. I grabbed the door and held it for her and you know, she didn't even as much as nod or acknowledge my presence. I wanted to say, "You're WELCOME!", but bit my tongue, instead. Gotta focus on the positive, right?
Your corn dog recipe sounds so good I will have to try them. We had a shower of rain tonight I hope it cools things down. It has been so hot here. Take care, Jean.
Great advice for today Pam. I loved all the quotes and those mini corndog muffins sound rather tasty! Lots to love. Thanks for all that you share. Have a brilliant Sunday. I know you will. xxoo
