Life is a Special Occasion!

It’s National Chip and Dip Day! Chips and dip are the iconic American party snack. Whether you prefer tortilla chips, potato chips, or corn chips, there are dozens of dips to complement your snack of choice.
Today is best celebrated in the evening with a bag of chips and your favorite dip. Chip in, then dip in !

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
When your kids are their hungriest, put out raw vegetables and dip - simple. It takes two seconds.
Andie MacDowell
I do love chips and dips and very often they make a meal for me. I found a new recipe to try out and it sounds like it would be a good one to serve on crackers.
BLT and Cheese Dip
1 container, 8 oz. sour cream
3/4 cup mayonnaise
8 ounces bacon, crisp cooked, drained and crumbled
3/4 teaspoon onion powder
3/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 cup seeded and finely chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Lettuce leaves, optional
In medium bowl stir together sour cream, mayonnaise, bacon, onion powder and seasoned salt. Fold in tomatoes and cheese. Refrigerate for 2 to 24 hours. Line serving bowl with lettuce leaves, if desired. Spoon bacon mixture into bowl. Serve with chips or crackers of your choice.
This coming weekend is our family Easter Celebration. It’s hard to believe that it’s that time already. April 5th is when Easter will actually be here, but we always do our family get togethers on a Saturday before or after the holiday. It’s a good thing our snow is now gone and that there is none in the forecast either.
I’m sure there will be lots of treats and good food as there always is more than our family can eat in one sitting. I’ll be cooking up something good to share as will everyone else. And I’m sure the Easter Bunny must have got a head start as there surely is a lot of candy here at my house to share too.
Looks like it’ll be a busy week here getting everything all together. The Easter and Spring decorations are out here at my house and the Easter tablecloth is on the dining room table. The pictures are of my beautiful Easter lily from last year.
I hope you all have a great week ahead. Happy Monday !

Said a prayer for your DDIL#6's mom and her surgery! I pray too for guided hands of the surgeon and a quick recovery! Yum with that BLT dip! I love chips and dip, regular potato chips and ranch dip, have to save them for special occasions though with my waist line :)
How fun with your Easter family celebration, Ma! I'm sure it will also include an egg hunt!
