81 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Sunrise: 6:00 am
Sunset: 9:05 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
As summer progresses, the mercury climbs. July 3rd is Air Conditioning Appreciation Day. It's also Stay Out of the Sun Day, making this an ideal occasion for heading indoors. What a wonderful way to avoid sunstroke.
Movie theaters, shopping malls, restaurants, stores and other indoor locations offer a respite in the summer heat. After all, it's July 3rd, Air Conditioning Appreciation Day, time to keep your cool.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Doomed are the hotheads! Unhappy are they who lose their cool and are too proud to say, I'm sorry.
Robert H. Schuller
Thankfully I do have air conditioning here at my house. When it gets hot and humid outside I do stay inside. I love summer days in the 70's and 80's but when the temps head up close to 90 and above, I figure it's best to be indoors.
It's always a good thing to remember to keep your cool. It seems that when temperatures heat up, then so do temperaments.
Popsicles are a great way to keep cool in the summertime. Make your own by freezing juice, Kool-Aid, pudding, yogurt or another drink of choice in an ice cube tray or a small cup for a cool treat.
Drink lots and lots of water. This one is the most important. No matter how you choose to keep cool in the Summer heat, always drink plenty of fresh water. Room temperature water hydrates your body faster, allowing you to cool down without causing that brain freeze headache that comes from drinking ice cold water when you're hot. Stay hydrated and safe through the summer by drinking lots of water while playing, working and living in the Summer months.
Go slow and try not to do anything in high heat. Siesta is good. Heat stroke is bad.
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
How can one help shivering with delight when one's hot fingers close around the stem of a live flower, cool from the shade and stiff with newborn vigor!
Colette
I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.
727. for air conditioning on a hot day
728. for popsicles!
729. for a plentiful supply of fresh water
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
