71 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Sunrise: 6:07 am
Sunset: 9:01 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
July 14th is Pandemonium Day, an occasion for bountiful bedlam, crazed chaos, dandy disorganization, merry mayhem, prized procrastination, wonderful wackiness and more.
Fly by the seat of your proverbial pants on July 14th with total abandon. Toss your schedule for 24 hours.
It's Pandemonium Day.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Chaos is a name for any order that produces confusion in our minds.
George Santayana
The crazy lazy days of summer are here and although it is not total chaos here at my house, any kind organization has pretty much come to a halt. Day to day I've just been doing what is absolutely needed and not much else. I've procrastinated more in the last few weeks than I think I ever have. My get up and go - went.
It's been said that 'there ain't no cure for the summer time blues', and that is what I think I have here. The summertime blues may be linked to the gap between our expectations and the reality of our lives. I think the past few weeks of rain have put me in my present state and I'm hoping that now a few days of dryer and sunnier weather will help to pull me up and out of it.
Sometimes we just have to give some appreciation and gratitude for the simple things in our lives. I've found that most of the time counting my blessings and giving thanks for them will make everything look a whole lot brighter.
The pictures today are of the Butterfly Bush that is blooming in the back yard right now.
Hope you all have a relaxing and restful Sunday!
We must not get bogged down, but we must become filled with hope for the journey.
GOD'S TODAY
Don't let yourself be torn
between yesterday
and tomorrow.
Live always and only
God's today.
Accept surprises
that upset your plans,
shatter your dreams,
give a completely
different turn
to your day
and - who knows?
to your life.
It is not chance,
Leave the Father free
Himself to weave
The pattern of your days.
Dam Helder Camara, A Thousand Reasons for Living
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.
Melody Beattie
I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.
760. for the many things I have to be thankful for
761. for a wonderful church to go to
762. for a few days of dryer weather
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
I may be justifying my pockets of chaos, but I will always choose people over perfection and the heart over task and tidy.
Betsy Cañas Garmon
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma
