57 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Sunrise: 6:21 am
Sunset: 8:48 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
July 29th is To the Moon Day. This lofty occasion recalls the 1958 founding of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in the United States, which has orchestrated the American space program. The National Aeronautics and Space Act was passed on July 29, 1958.
Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.
Les Brown
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
We are, many of us, a planet orbiting somebody's sun, unconscious of a lonely moon, orbiting our planet.
Robert Brault
Truthfully, by the time the stars come out at night I'm usually tucked away safely inside these days. I used to love sitting out by the campfire and looking up at the sky. Being in the country seems to make the stars and the moon much brighter. I'm thankful for the memories of those times. It's no wonder at all to me that men want to explore space and discover it's wonders.
Still what little bit of the sky that I can see from my view is amazing. A few years back I discovered an app for my phone called Skyview that shows you exactly what you are seeing in the sky and names the stars that you see. It's a lot of fun and it's free too.
I hope you all enjoy some lovely summer nights with the moon and the stars in all their glory!
Have an amazing Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence.... We need silence to be able to touch souls.
Mother Teresa
I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.
806. for a bright moon on a dark night
807. for space exploration
808. for stars twinkling in the sky
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
May you have warm words on a cool evening, a full moon on a dark night, and a smooth road all the way to your door.
Irish Toast
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

I love sitting by a fire on a cool night also!! Nothing better!! I can't wait until cool weather to do just that!!
I love looking at the night sky. Unfortunately there is a lot of light pollution where I live so I generally don't get to see many stars. Long ago I went out to the Navajo Reservation in AZ and in total darkness looked at the night sky. It was the most awesome experience I've ever had. Blessings
