75 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Sunrise: 6:04 am
Sunset: 9:03 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
As the mercury soars on July 9th, rock-and-roll fans dance and groove the night away to their favorite tunes. It's Rock Around the Clock Day, commemorating the rise of Bill Haley and the Comets' hit single, Rock Around the Clock, to the top of the American popular music charts on July 9, 1955.
Five, six, seven o'clock, eight o'clock rock
Nine, ten, eleven o'clock, twelve o' clock rock
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight …
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere.
Glenn Turner
Before I say anything else today, I have to say Happy Anniversary to DS#5 and his wife. I forgot to do so yesterday. I am sorry to say that somehow I missed it. Better late than never anyway. They did celebrate week before last and I got to watch their kids for them when they went out to dinner and a movie. That was my pleasure as I got to spend some time with our little AB and Mr. Wonderful.
Happy Anniversary and may the dear Lord bless you both today and always!
I do a lot more rocking than I do grooving these days. I love my rocking chair. Rocking and reading is one of my favorite things to do. Last week I purchased a new Kindle as my other one went on the fritz. Real books are something in the past for me.
The clock keeps ticking here and the steamy days of July are upon us. We are now in the Dog Days of summer (July 3 - August 11th.) These are supposed to be the hottest days of summer. After waiting all winter for summer to arrive so I could enjoy being outdoors, I'm a bit disappointed in our weather. Due to the rain, the high humidity, and the misquitoes I'm staying inside more than I want. Thankfully I always have a book to read.
Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
No man can be called friendless who has God and the companionship of good books.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.
745. rocking chairs
746. a new Kindle

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
You can't turn back the clock. But you can wind it up again.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I love rocking chairs. I was privileged to inherit my Mother's antique rocker. Just wish I had a porch to put it on. But I am content to sit and watch the birds in my yard as I rock or to just sit and read. Heat and humidity are keeping me indoors a lot here also. God's Blessings to you.
Pam, when you get a new kindle what happens to the books on the old one?? Are you able to transfer them over or do you lose them??
1955, the year I was born was a stellar year! lol
I was a bit young to enjoy Bill Haley and the Comets then, but I did enjoy their music when I got older! Have a wonderful Wednesday! Hard to believe that the week is half over already!
