65 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Sunrise: 6:13 am
Sunset: 8:56 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
July 21st is Cousins Day, celebrating extended families. Why not call up a cousin, or fire off an email, instant message or cell phone text message to one of your cousins on Cousins Day - July 21st?
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.
Earl Nightingale
I have a lot of cousins, but rarely get to see many of them anymore. One of my cousins works in our local Home Depot and I saw her a couple of weeks ago. She mentioned that her mom, my aunt, was in on vacation so I managed to get out and see her. This is an aunt on my dad's side of the family and she lives out of state.
I do have a lot of fond memories of my cousins. Holiday visits and summer vacations were often spent with family and I saw a lot of them when I was young. Not so much at all anymore.
My mother's side of the family does have a reunion every year, but as it is out of state I don't get to it anymore either. It seems more and more I'm here at home and here I stay. Maybe that is a good thing.
Today I'll be having my 3rd Sunday dinner and hopefully I'll be seeing some of my family.
Hope you all have a restful and relaxing Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Faith is the quiet cousin of courage.
Judith Hanson Lasater
I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.
781. for all my cousins
782. for family dinners
783. for Sundays
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
Other things may change us, but we start and end with family.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

It is very sad but I haven't seen any of my cousins in over 10 years. I don't even have any contact with them except 1 does send me a Christmas card. Years ago they all moved out of state;then all our parents passed away ; and that was the last of us ever getting together. It is very sad when families lose touch with each other.
I had lunch with three of mine on Friday... it's so good to keep in touch at this stage of our lives!
