ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
JANUARY 27th, 2010
It's WEDNESDAY!
OVER THE HUMP DAY!
I hope your week has been off to a good start. Other than being cold so far this has been a good week here at my house. Ordinary days filled with ordinary doings. Nothing much new or unusual around here at all.
I stopped at the store yesterday at lunch time to pick up a few things and as always my few things turned into 50 dollars worth. Just the basics, nothing special always seems to run up really quickly any more.
One thing I did get that wasn’t on my list was a new pair of gloves. I lost a pair somewhere along the way and have been looking for another just like them. I found them and they were only 6.99 so that wasn’t bad at all.
THINKING
Life is filled with surprises, both big and small. They may come through an unexpected phone call from a friend, exciting news of a new opportunity, or a surprise invitation to an event. Each surprise bears its own gift and blessing. Knowing that God is in charge, we can look forward to the surprises that may come our way.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also
Matthew 6:21
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
A Different Way to do Spaghetti
Oven baked spaghetti
1 lb browned and seasoned ground Beef (Italian sausage can be substituted)
3/4 lb. spaghetti, cooked
1 jar (approx 15 oz) of your favorite pasta sauce
2 cups Mozzarella Cheese, grated
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large sauce pan, simmer meat and tomato/pasta sauce together. Toss the cooked noodles in the sauce.
To Assemble: Spray a casserole dish with non stick cooking spray. Spoon half of the noodle mixture into the dish. Pack it down lightly and sprinkle on half of the cheese. Add the other half of the spaghetti, pack down lightly and top with the rest of the cheese. Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly. Serve with a green salad and crusty garlic bread.
PRAYERS
Father, make me an instrument of Your peace
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
Thankfully January is just about over and I know we are all looking forward to Spring right now. I am for sure!
With the wind whipping around and the snow blowing it just seems like winter is going on and on. But hang in there! Spring is getting closer and before we know it we’ll be having those sunny warm days again.
