ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
JANUARY 21ST, 2010
It's THURSDAY…
There are thoughts of Spring on my mind today. The weather has been so dreary, but they do say we may have a chance to see the sun today
It’ll be another quiet day at work for me. The boss will be out for a good part of the day and my work is about completed for the week. I guess it would be a good morning for me to do a little clean up around there.
I am never without something to do it seems.
THINKING
Tomorrow is anniversary of the Supreme Court decision, Roe vs. Wade, 1973, in the United States of America, January 22 and it is a day of prayer for Human Life. Please join me in prayer for the full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life.
Almighty God, the hearts of the powerful are in your hands; bestow your
wisdom upon our leaders, that they may govern wisely and justly, championing your gift
of life and dignity in all of human kind
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
This week I’ve been eating one of my favorite quick and easy meals. I made a pot full so I also put some in the freezer for another time too. I made it on Sunday and have had it for dinner every evening since.
It is all fixed in one pot and that is what makes it so easy.
Potatos-Carrots-Cabbage and Kielbasa
1 lb. Kiebasa, sliced into 1 inch pieces
8 small red potatoes
1 bag of baby carrots or 1 lb. of regular carrots sliced
1 medium head of cabbage, cut into wedges
I first brown my Kielbasa then add the potatoes, carrots and the wedges of cabbage on top. Add enough water to cook it all in. I fill the pan maybe a little over half full with water. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover the pan and bring to a boil and then lower the temp a bit and cook till everything is done.
Simple and easy and everything you need for a meal in one pan.
PRAYERS
Lord, inspire me to live in such a way that I always give of my best and be welcoming and generous towards others
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home

I’m done with getting all the Christmas things stored away. I noticed yesterday that the Christmas coffee mugs were still hanging on my mug rack so I got them put away and put my cute mugs with the roosters on them back on.
Things are looking pretty much like Valentine’s Day at my house. I know it is very early for it yet, but I did need to brighten up the place somehow. At the end of February I’ll put up a few green things for St. Patrick’s Day which is in March and also filter in a few Spring like ornaments and flowers around the house too as March also brings the 1st Day of Spring.
I found a very good smelling candle at the dollar store of all places. It says it is Cherry Chocolate scented. Very nice!
FAMILY
I looked on child rearing not only as a work of love and duty but as a profession that was fully interesting and challenging as any honorable profession in the world and one that demanded the best that I could bring to it.
Rose Kennedy
I hear a lot of people say they wonder about kids today. I think for the most part if you are wondering about the kids, then you are also wondering about the parents. Little children are born with open minds just waiting to be filled with information and what they learn is usually who they are.
It does demand a lot out of folks when they become parents. It is not any easy job at all. It’s true too that being a Mom is one job you cannot retire from ever. You’re in for a lifetime career for sure.
COUNTING THE DAYS
Living in the moment means letting go of the past and not waiting for the future. It means living your life consciously, aware that each moment you breathe is a gift

85 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
70 DAYS UNTIL MA RETIRES
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…

Hi there. I love kielbasa! Always love to grill it, stir fry it, and put it in other dishes. Always comes out good. Hope your week is going by fast. As you say we are now "sliding" down into the weekend. lol. Nice when the boss is out. You can work on your own agenda. ha.
It's good to read you will have a quiet day even though I know you will find something to keep you busy.Happy to see you are getting sorted, putting away of Christmas things.Your home sounds as though it's going to be looking realy nice in the future at the special times we have coming up.The recipe sounds yummy,I could do a bowl of that this lunchtime to ward of this bitter cold day here in my part of England Brrr.I second you on the prayers.I say parents can only do there best, and I certainly tried my best to bring up my family of four the correct way, they got plenty of love without a doubt,it's up to the children themselves then which road they choose to go down. It's a tough job in todays world it seems for many parents,I feel for lots of them.Have a lovely day Ma,safe journeys.Take Care God Bless Kath xx
Your kielbasa sounds good!
Wise words and prayers indeed.
Prayers for a joyful day,
Julie
