ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
JANUARY 23RD, 2010
It's SATURDAY!
Today is the Mid-Point of Winter. Yes, it is half over!!!
Psychologist call today the most depressing day of the year. Gloomy weather, bills due and resolutions fail.
The good news is it will all be up hill from here! Longer days, more sunshine, and warmth are coming our way!
I really need to take some new pictures to share with you all. Maybe that is something I can do this weekend. I still am unable to upload any to my blog, but am working on that one.
It’s a slow start for me today as the work week left me pretty tired out, but then that is nothing new. I’ve plenty to do around the house as usual, but am going to be moving slow and easy today. Easy as in doing as little as possible, I think.
THINKING
My cross is not too heavy,
My road is not too rough
Because God walks beside me
And to know this is enough
And though I get so lonely
I know I’m not alone
For the Lord God is my Father
And He loves me as my own
So though I’m tired and weary
And I wish my race were run
God will only terminate it
When my work on earth is done
So let me stop complaining
About my load of care
For God will always lighten it
When it gets too much to bear
And if He does not ease my load
He will give me strength to bear it
For God in love and mercy
Is always near to share it.
By Helen Steiner Rice
Fear Not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters I will be with you: and through the rivers they shall not overwhelm you: when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, the flame shall not consume you.
Isaiah 43: 1,2
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
With Valentine’s Day looming ahead of us I found an easy candy recipe to make. It’s one even my grand’babe’s could do.
An easy way for the little ones to craft their own Valentine's Day candy.
1 can white frosting
8 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Red, chocolate, or pink Valentine's Day M&M's candy
Spoon a dollop of white frosting on top of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and decorate with M&M's!
PRAYERS
Almighty God, You are source of my strength. Help me to continue even when the going is rough.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
We’ll be having some rain this weekend they say. There is still the snow piles here and there that look pretty dirty so maybe they’ll wash away. By mid week we may have some more snow. Our warmer weather will not last much past Monday then we’ll go back down in the deep freeze.
FAMILY
Children are natural mimics who act like their parents despite every effort to teach them good manners.
