TODAY'S THOUGHT
We are God's light, shining to show the way to life
JUST FOR TODAY
We all need to look for the silver linings in our day-to-day lives
Just for today : I will not dwell on what might go wrong, I will choose to focus on God's powerful, protecting presence within and around me

IT’S SUNDAY !!
I’m sitting here enjoying this quiet morning. No rushing around to do anything and just relaxing. I’ll be off to church as always later on but for now I’m just going to enjoy the good coffee.
Hopefully the sun may just come out here today. I am planning on doing more around the house and not much else. I did get quite a bit done yesterday and that’s a good thing. I made one too many trips up and down the stairs though and that is not a good thing.
DS#5 called Saturday morning to let me know he’d been off work all this past week. Sinus and migranes due to the sudden change in temps he says. His wife’s grandmother passed away pretty suddenly too and that only added to a miserable week for them.
Take good care all – it is time to drink your OJ and remember to wash your hands often
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
My prayers and condolences go out to DDIL#5 today as her grandmother passed away. She and her family are in my thoughts and prayers as they go thought this sad time. May the dear Lord comfort you and bless you with the needed strength to go through this time of sorrow.
Holy Spirit, open our eyes to see you at work,
the Source of joy in the midst of sorrow
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
MAY GOD GO WITH YOU!

St. Francis of Assissi's Saint's day. St. Francis died on this day in 1226.
On St Francis Day swallows are supposed to fly to the bottom of ponds and hibernate through the winter.
In the days before the idea of migration was understood, this seemed a reasonable explanation for their sudden disappearance. The fact that swallows skim the surface of ponds for insects may have been the starting point for this particular folklore

A three-year-old gained an interesting perspective on birth. His mother was pregnant and so was the family dog. So the father thought it would be a good time to explain where babies come from. The boy stood wide-eyed and watched the birth of the puppies.Months later, on the day of delivery, the child went to the hospital to visit his mother. As he looked at the row of babies through the nursery window, he asked,
Are these all ours?
Giving birth is little more than a set of muscular contractions granting passage of a child. Then the mother is born
Erma Bombeck
When mothers talk about the depression of the empty nest, they're not mourning the passing of all those wet towels on the floor, or the music that numbs your teeth, or even the bottle of capless shampoo dribbling down the shower drain. They're upset because they've gone from supervisor of a child's life to a spectator. It's like being the vice-president of the United States

TODAY’S REFLECTION
Your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God
1 Corinthians 2:5
All human attempts to explain God are inadequate, and can even distort our priorities, confuse our thinking, and flatten our understanding of the spiritual life. To keep from distorting God’s truth, we must rely on God’s power rather than man’s wisdom
