TODAY'S THOUGHT
A thousand words will not leave so deep an impression as one deed.
Henrik Ibsen
JUST FOR TODAY
We all need to look for the silver linings in our day-to-day lives
Just for today: I will focus on being a positive influence in the lives of others. Today is a new day, free of stress or anxiety, free of conflicts or concerns. And I am free to choose what I want it to be. I will greet this day, knowing that I am a child of God

It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye

IT’S THURSDAY !!
By yesterday afternoon the sun did come out for us, but it was still very windy. Starting this afternoon it’s supposed to rain again and continue all day Friday. It will be a wet drive to the campsite after work on Friday afternoon.
We’ll hope it stops early on and maybe we can enjoy a campfire and I know everyone will want to decorate for the Fall Festival too. I have a string of lights that looks like Indian corn and another that looks like pumpkins and a garland of fall leaves to hang up but that will probably be all the decorating I’ll do. I already have a little scarecrow there that hopefully didn’t blow away.
On the bright side of things I found a set of glasses to go with my rooster décor in the kitchen. They are acrylic but still look very cute.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Father, help us be who you want us to be, wherever we are. Help us to joyfully participate in what you are doing. We pray this through Jesus, our Savior
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

TODAY’S SMILE
I'd rather be over the hill than under it.
Wisdom from Grandpa
Trouble in marriage often starts when a man gets so busy earnin' his salt that he forgets his sugar.
Too many couples marry for better or for worse, but not for good.
When a man marries a woman, they become one, but the trouble starts when they try to decide which one.
If a man has enough "horse sense" to treat his wife like a thoroughbred, she will never be an old nag.
On anniversaries the wise husband always forgets the past... but never the present.
The bonds of matrimony are a good investment only when the interest is kept up.
TODAY’S REFLECTION
Who can compare with the Lord?
He pardons what we do wrong,
and takes great pleasure
in having mercy.
He treads down our faults,
and he casts our sins
to the very bottom of the sea.
Micah 7:18-20
People of the Jewish faith celebrate the New Year - Rosh Hashanah - when it is late September or early October. It is the first of 10 days of prayer for forgiveness- 10 penitential days: a time when people focus on returning to God, growing closer to him, and realizing how they need to grow in kindness to others.
The last of the ten days is called Yom Kippur, which is considered the most holy of days in the Jewish Calendar. Yom Kippur is sometimes called The Day of Atonement - a word that means becoming atone with God again. The shofar - the ram’s horn - is blown, reminding people of the promises they have made to change their lives for the better
TODAY’S ADVICE
Prune grapevines and water shrubs before the ground freezes

What beautiful glasses!
I have a cousin who collects rooster things too - she would love your glasses. I have a couple of gifts that I happened on that I'll be taking to her in a couple of weeks - a rooster bag and a rooster kitchen timer. She is a severe diabetic and is on dialysis three times a week so little gifts are welcome to cheer her up. I found your blog through Angie. blessings, marlene
Thank you MA for the birthday wishes. Enjoy your weekend away!
