The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals
Life is a special occasion!
Today is the International Day of Friendship, which means we should take time today to appreciate the friends in our life and tell the how much you care. Never forget that the friendships have made through life have had a great impact on you.
This holiday was created in 2011 by the UN General Assembly to foster the idea that friendships can inspire peace efforts and bring communities together. These friendships can be between individuals, countries, cultures and beyond.
Celebrate today, and let a friend know how much they mean to you and how much they are appreciated!
To see the bright side, polish the dull side
Friendship improves happiness and abates misery, by doubling our joys and dividing our grief.
Marcul Tillius Cicero
I am very thankful for all my friends. Some are family and some are like family to me. I have a few that I’ve been friends with for a long time. Some are even internet friends that I met through doing a blog. It seems we have a lot in common and that what brings us together. More than not, that seems to be our love of family. Please know, I am very thankful for all my friends and really do appreciate all of them.
My very best friend is my daughter. We do a lot together, we may not always agree on things, but we do love each other.
She has gone back to school this week. Only teachers and staff, not the kids yet. They will go back in August. I don’t remember the exact date but it will be around the middle of the month, I think. The school she’s at is only a year old and is very nice. Of course all the schools are air conditioned so it makes it comfortable to be in school even though it's still summer. I miss her being at home, but I still have my grandson here and their dog. I’m not alone at all.
It’s been cooler and rainy here for a while now but the weather says we’ll be heating up back to the 100’s again. I’m just thankful for the break we had and all the rain too.
Unlike most people, I’m not looking forward to fall. I love summer and have found the Texas heat bearable.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, They are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
12,545. for all my friends
12,546. for my best friend, my daughter
12,547. for they rainy days we’ve had
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.

The best way to have a friend is to be a friend.
Happy Friend's Day, Ma!
I don't enjoy talking on the phone so much anymore, but a few years ago I changed the ring tone on my phone to play the theme from Golden Girls ("Thank you for being a friend....") for 3 such gals.
I'm so glad we met here on Blogland.
I am so glad we are friends too Ma! We have a lot in common. My daughter is my best friend, and she is a teacher. The kids start this Thursday already!
