The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals
Life is a special occasion!
Today is National Lollipop Day which celebrates all the variety of different shapes, sizes and flavors of the traditional hard candy. They are made with four simple ingredients— sugar, water, corn syrup and favorings.
Culinary historians believe that the lollipop has been around since prehistoric times. It is presumed that humans often enjoyed honey on a stick as a delicious treat. No one knows who created the modern day lollipop, however we do know how the lollipop got its name, George Smith, the owner of a small candy store came up with the sweet's name after his favorite racehorse — Lolly Pop.
Celebrate today and check out a local candy store near you, so you can grab a lollipop to enjoy!

Lollipops, or suckers as we called them, are something I really never got in to. I bought them for the kids more than anything else. It’s a good thing since I shouldn't eat them at all due to their high sugar content.
Every now and then someone does come up with an unusual flavor though, I remember once DS#1 had found one that was caramel and green apple flavored that was delicious. That was years ago when we used to go camping together and long before I began my no sugar diet.
It’s basketball Saturday again and we’ll see how the team does this week. We hope they will win again, but that a remains to be seen.
I saw some boys walking in the field behind house with fishing poles this morning. The Guadalupe River runs on the other side, but it’s quite a ways from the house and hidden by trees so we don’t see it. It’ll be interesting to see if they come back with any thing.
This morning is sunny and quite humid and there is a slight chance of rain, but not anytime soon. So it looks to be a beautiful Saturday.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
Lollipops, the perfect dose of sugary happiness.

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen

I hope you can enjoy a lollipop to celebrate today!
Lolly Pop the horse ... that's cute!
There haven't been any lollipops in our home in years. Remember when pediatricians used to give them away to all the good little boys and girls? Now I wonder if they didn't have a dental office on the side. (lol)
