Decide to be happy today, to live with what is yours – your family, your business, your job, your luck. If you can’t have what you like, maybe you can like what you have.
Just for today, be kind, cheerful, agreeable, responsive, caring, and understanding. Be your best, dress your best, talk softly, and look for the bright side of things. Praise people for what they do and do not criticize them for what they cannot do. If someone does something stupid, forgive and forget. After all, it’s just for one day.
Who knows, it might turn out to be a nice day.

It's important to relax awhile, when you're rested you always do better!
Your daddy sounds exactly like mine. I remember him saying, "If I retire I'll die" -- and sadly, that was a self-fulfilling prophecy.
While I always considered myself a self-starter and worked hard, now I'm delighted to be retired and take naps whenever I want!
I was and still am a workaholic. I can't stop. Maybe it isn't work, maybe it is just staying busy. I always said if a person retires they need something to fill the void. READING does help. My dad should never have retired, he should have taken a 4 week vacation I think.
Take care... ;-)
