ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
WEDNESDAY, JULY 7TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Chocolate Day which is a delicious reason to celebrate. Chocolate actually comes from trees. This small tree is called the Theobroma cacao , or the cocoa tree. It’s fruit produces cocoa seeds, which in turn produce cocoa powder and chocolate. If only chocolate bars grew on trees.
If you’re a chocoholic, then you have two more chocolate days to celebrate. Chocolate Day is on September 13 and National Chocolate Day is October 28th.
Whether it’s to munch on a chocolate bar, sip on a steaming cup of hot chocolate , or smother an ice cream sundae in hot chocolate fudge, be sure to get your chocolate fix. Enjoy!
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Strength is the capacity to break a Hershey Bar into four pieces with your bare hands - and then eating just one of the pieces.
Judith Viorst
I love chocolate and usually have some every day. It’s good for what ails you. Chocolate functions an antibiotic and is an anti platelet, similar to aspirin. It increases LDL cholesterol, and contains polyphenols that prevent DNA damage.
Cocoa contains flavonoids that prevent cell damage and inflammation health Research has shown cognitive function is greatly improved in the elderly.
It puts you in a better mood. It is nutritious. It has almost all of your RDA requirements for copper and manganese. It contains 2/3 of your RDA for iron. It’s has fiber and lots of zinc, selenium and potassium too.
So why not have some chocolate today, it is very good for you!
It’s my day to make up my menu and with the hot weather in mind here is my menu for next week
Monday- Fresh Corn Cakes with Summer Salsa
Wednesday-Hot Dogs Run Through the Garden
Friday - Salmon Burgers
Weekend- Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with Summer Vegetables
I’m going to be on vacation for the next week, so I don’t plan on going shopping today. But I do have a couple of errands to run so I’ll still be getting out and about.
My vacation is going to my daughter’s house to watch her dogs while they are on vacation so the pictures today are of her place and her dogs.
We’re to get some rain today, so I’ll be dodging rain drops, hopefully I’ll get back home before the rain moves in. I don’t think they’re suppose to come our way until evening.
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
All you meed is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY

It's going to be a mini vacation for me at DD's house with a pool to enjoy !
Your menu sounds great. I think I'll borrow your idea and put some corn cakes on my next menu plan. I haven't made any since last summer. Have a great time on your little vacation, it's nice to have a change of scenery once in a while!
What beautiful grand-dogs! I'm really taken with that 'gather' signage, and may look for something similar at Hobby Lobby to hang over my stove.
Your mini-vacation sounds like a win-win for all concerned; fun to wake up in a new room, isn't it?
