ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
THURSDAY, JULY 22ND, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is Hammock Day which is a reminder to slow down, breathe easy and enjoy these beautiful summer months. Though the exact origins are unknown, it is said that hammocks originated hundreds of years ago in South America. Alledgedly, the journals of Christopher Columbus provide the first documentation of the hammock. However, some sources attribute the invention to the Ancient Greeks. One thing for sure, hammocks have always been symbols of leisure.
Today, take a few minutes to sit back and unwind on a hammock. There’s no better way to celebrate. Grab a cool drink and a good book, or lie back for a much needed nap.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is relax.
Mark Black
I don’t have a hammock to enjoy, but I’m all about relaxing with a good book on a hot summer day. I have a comfy chair on the porch and a foot stool to prop up my feet and I can even fall asleep there if I want.
Taking time to relax especially when it’s hot out is very good for us. When we relax the flow of blood increases around our body, giving us more energy. It helps us to have a calmer and clearer mind which aides positive thinking, concentration, memory, and decision making. It slows our heart rate, reduces our blood pressure and relieves tension. Getting enough rest will halp you to better enjoy life more. If you take the time to relax, you’ll be more productive, so it’s never wasted time.
Not only does this help us to better help those we care about but it also makes our own life more fulfilling. When it comes to relaxing, I get more time than most others. I rest more than I work on any given day. I really should have no worries about high blood pressure, but I did and for that reason I had my check up at the doctors over a week ago now. I’ve been waiting for the results of my blood tests. Well they finally called me yesterday, I had no problems except for the fact that they discovered my kidney function is on the low side. Now the doctor wants me to see a specialist to have this checked out and I will. It’s certainly nothing for me to ignore.
I guess now that I’m approaching 80 years old I’m going to be falling apart. Adding a new doctor to my list is not something I want to do, but need to do.We’ll see what they have to say. I’ll let you know when I do.
I’ve never had any problems with my kidneys before, but every day is always something new. From what I’ve read it cam happen more with age and one of every 3 persons can be affected. That’s why its so important to have regular check ups.
I hope you have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The ability to relax and be mindfully present in the moment comes naturally when we are grateful.
Louise Hay
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
9375. for a good doctor that keeps me in check
9376. for rest and relaxation, very good for us
9377.for new things that come our way every day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Take time to relax it's important to your health.
Be sure you are drinking lots of water Ma and have some fresh berries everyday. both can help with kidney function.
Thank goodness, your having a pro-active doctor! Sometimes I weary of all our appointments -- then stop to realize how fortunate we are to be the beneficiaries of modern medicine and technologies.
Now that all our errands are done, I'm going to avail myself of some of that R&R! 'See' you tomorrow!
