ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
WEDNESDAY, JULY 21ST, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is National Junk Food Day this is the perfect day to include in all your junk food cravings.
Americans eat about 25 pounds of candy per year and will consume about 45 pieces of of pizza annually. That’s a lot of junk food
Open up a bag of chips or support your local restaurant by ordering some appetizers, or make an ice ream sundae for dessert.
To celebrate, make sure you hove at least one of your guilty pleasures today!
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
By eating many fruits and vegetables in place of fast food and junk food, people could avoid obesity.
David H. Murdock
It seems junk food is aways enjoyable, no matter how bad it may be for us. I love sweets and chips to snack on. If it weren’t for these I’d be slim and trim. But I’m not and eat more junk food than I should.
I try to eat healthier and plan good healthy meals every week So that way I’m not tempted to go out and pick some quick junk food to have for dinner.
This is my day to plan the menu for next week and here it is:
Monday-One Pot Tomato Basil Pasta
Wednesday Basil Paremesan Zuchinni Roll Ups Casserole
Friday - Spinach and Mushroom Quche
Weelemd- Chicken Cutlets with Sun Dried Tomato Cream Sauce
I do my shopping from this list but also pick up some chips and donuts when I go shopping They are definitely my downfall.
On the menu for today is
Taco Turkey Meat Loaf
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup cooked brown rice
1 onion, grated
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1./4 cup grated Romano cheese
1/4 cup tomato sauce
1 envelope taco seasoning
2 cloves garlic minced
1/2 tsp pepper
3 pounds ground turkey
Topping:
1 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/4 cup grated Romano cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine the first 10 ingredients. Add turkey, mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into two loaves and place in a greased baking pan
Bake 2 hours. Mix together topping ingredients; spread over loaves. Bake until a thermometer reads 165 degrees, 10 t0 15 minutes longer. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
Leftover meat loaf makes wonderful sandwiches too. I’ll be enjoying them for lunch.
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
If we’re not willing to settle for junk living, we certainly shouldn’t settle for junk food.

We couldn't take a steady diet of it, but a little now and then doesn't hurt.
Oh who doesn't love junk food. My very favorite is corn chips lightly salted!! That last picture would sure be good for lunch.
I think I'll stick with my ice cold watermelon for my treat today. Enjoy your delicious meatloaf. :)
Unfair, isn't it? Sometimes I wish junk food was better for us than fruits and veggies. I can't recall the last time I had a craving for a piece of celery. (LOL)
