ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
TUESDAY, JULY 27TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Take your pants for a Walk day which celebrates going for a walk and the pants you wear. It makes sense that where you go, your pants will also go.
It’s summer and this lends itself to invite someone to go for a walk outside and have a great time together.
Going for a walk is not only good and healthy, it’s fun too.
To celebrate take a walk and get some exercise. You can go alone or with friends and maybe even take your camera with you!
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I’m a slow walker, but I never walk back.
Abraham Lincoln
I don’t go for walks as much as I used to and when I go very far at all, I have to use my walker which was a gift from my children. It’s very helpful when you want to go for a walk and it’s better to use it than sit inside and get no exercise at all.
It’s said that walking can be one of the best ways to exercise. It can lower blood pressure, maintain a healthy weight and make us feel less stress. All you have to do is put one foot in front of the other .
The key is to do it for 30 minutes a day. It will reduce your risk of chronic diseases, make your brain sharper and your heart happier.
The Anerucam Diabetes Association recommends walking to lower blood sugar levels and overall risk for diabetes. Some studies even show that for every 1,000 steps you take you lower your blood pressure by .45 points. It is recommended we do 1 hour walks twice a week for the best results.
I’ll be doing most of my walking this week at the grocery store where it’s cooler than outside. It usually takes me the better part of an hour to get my shopping done. It’s too hot out for me to enjoy the outdoors these days, so I’ll go to store and walk around. I plan to get out and visit the grocery store and a discount department store in our area called Gabes. That will make up my twice a week.
The pictures today are of one of my walks around the park here where I live. It was early Spring and there were no leaves on the trees yet. We don’t have sidewalks but it’s safe to walk on the street. There is hardly ever any traffic.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Your park is very pretty and walking at the grocery store definitely counts:)
I did go for a morning walk while it was still cool. I did not, however, wear pants. I wore panties, but no pants, because I walked in my nightgown and housecoat. :D
We try to walk every day for my husband's bad knees, plus those uncounted steps around doing that nasty yardwork that never ends!
Love your little community. I'm dreaming of one in Florida but, thus far, that's all it is A DREAM!
Your community is really lovely! I'm chuckling about 'take your pants for a walk day.' How cute is that? After my haircut this morning I drove to Target, and who should I see but Pastor Janet and her friend. Given these hot and humid days they go there every morning and walk the (inside) perimeter for 40 minutes. I'm thinking of doing that, too, but will grab a cart to hang onto so I don't turn an ankle.
I had to laugh about take your pants for a walk day. We would all look pretty funny if people didn't wear their pants on walks! Glad you will be getting your walks in where it's nice and cool!
