ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SUNDAY, JULY 4TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Independence Day which celebrates this date in 1776 when the Second Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence. This historic document severed all ties with Great Britain and established many of our nation’s fundamental principals of freedom, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Thomas Jefferson was the main author of the Declaration, but four other delegates assisted him. Among them was John Adams. Both Adams and Jefferson later served as Presidents of the United States and both passed away on July 4, 1826, the 50th anniversary of our nation’s birth.
July is also National Grilling Month, National Hot Dog month and National Ice Cream Month.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
No other date on the calendar more potently symbolizes all that our nation stands for than the Fourth of July.
Mac Thornberry
I’ve got my flags out for display and am definitely celebrating this holiday. I’m proud to be an American and to live in the land of the brave and the home of the free.
I was able to enjoy our local fireworks display from the comfort of the spare room window on Friday night. I could see it all from a distance and it was beautiful. It was held just west of here and I didn’t have to fight the crowds or the traffic. They lit up the night skies as I looked out the window…
I’ll be off to church as usual today and will be wearing my red white and blue. I’ve been wearing this outfit for a long time. It’s also cool and comfortable. After that I’ve been invited to a cook out by DS#6 at his wife’s grandmother's house. I’m also hoping to catch some 4th of July entertainment on TV. There is usually a concert to enjoy along with some fireworks displays in the Capitol.
That’s what my pictures are of today, Washington DC. DS#5 and his family had gone there on vacation and shared their pictures. I’ve never been there myself, but can enjoy it with others pictures and the TV.
Have a safe and happy Forth of July
I hope you have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The United States is the only country with a known birthday.
James G. Blaine
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
9324.for the 4th of July, the birthday of our country
9325. for cook out to go to.
9326. for TV and others pictures, I’m an armchiair traveler.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.

Happy fourth of July Ma....love those pictures.
Enjoy church this morning and have a great time at the 4th of July celebration with family today!
How nice you were able to see the fireworks from the comfort of your own home! No matter how spectacular, I sure dislike all the traffic. Hope your cookout was great fun! We'll probably be joining you in seeing what concerts are being televised.
