ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 6TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Nurses Day with is the first day of Nurses week which begins on May 6 and ends on May 12, which is Florence Nigtingale's birthday. Today we celebrate the meaningful work that nurses do every day, and especially now on the frontlines of the global health crisis .
In 1963, Dorothy Sutherland, an employee of the US Department of Health sent a letter to President Eisenhower to recommend a National Nurses Day. Although Eisenhower did not make an official proclamations, people began celebrating Nurses Day the following year Twenty years later President Nixon made it an official holiday.
Today remember to thank all the nurses in your life for their amazing work and dedication.
Happy Nurses Day!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The definition of a nurse: to go above and beyond the call of duty . The first to work and the last to leave. The heart and soul of caring.., who will pass through your life for a minute and impact it for an eternity. An empowered individual who may meet for on a 12 hour period, but who will put you and yours about theirs.

Nurses are amazing and now more than ever should be appreciated for all they do. They as well as all medical personnel put their lives on the line fighting this terrible virus that is attacking us. To my knowledge the only nurse we have in the family is #1, my oldest granddaughter. and this is her first year nursing. I’d appreciate your prayers for her safety and that of all those others who are in the medical field. They are today’s heroes
This has been a very quiet week here at my house, Nothing new here going on. I’ve continued my reading and haven’t got into any new projects other than getting out my capri’s and t-shirts in anticipation of warmer weather to come.
Our warmest day of the week will probably be tomorrow, they say we’ll be close to 60 degrees with a slight chance of rain. I hope to be able to get out on a walk here in the community where I live. I don’t travel far at all these days but when the weather turns nice, I try to get out for some badly needed exercise.
On a side note to my children: I saw in the paper yesterday that Mrs. Diedrick who many of them had as a teacher, passed away. She was 86 years old. May she rest in peace.
I don’t have any pictures of nurses to share today so I put some in of my most recent walk around the neighborhood here. Not the most beautiful place in the world but a safe place to walk.
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wedneday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The trained nurse has become one of the great blessings of humanity, taking place beside the physican and the priest.

8085.for a safe place to exercise

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!
It would not be possible to praise nurses too highly

Thank a nurse today !
Nurses are the backbone of the hospital. Above doctors in my opinion!we are having hot days here so only walking at night or early morning here. Thankfully I walk on the treadmill every morning.

Absolutely. I'm happy to add the safety of your #1 to my prayers. Sometimes I wonder how my late mother -- a former R.N. -- would have felt and behaved in light of this enemy. She gave up nursing after I was born, but used to speak with such pride how it felt to wear her uniform and starched cap. Knowing her tender heart, I've little doubt she'd have been an amazing caregiver. Now, Tom's DIL is a RN at an ICU unit in Phoenix; and I hate to say it, but she exhibits little empathy when she speaks about the patients and their families. Oh well, they're all heroes in my book right now.
Nurses have always been the unsung heroes in the medical field, but I think people are starting to appreciate just how vital they are. Good nurses make all the difference in the world.
