ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 13TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is also International Nurses Day which recognizes the important work that nurses do to provide care and combat global health challenges such as the current crisis we face. Take the time to thank all the nurses in your life today.
The International Council of Nurses declared the first International Nurses Day in 1965. We celebrate this occasion on May 12th because its the birthday of Florence Nightengale, the founder of modern nursings. Today also marks the end of Nurses Appreciation Week. This years theme for International’s Nurses Day is Nurses: A voice to the lead - Nursing the World to Health.
To celebrate today, recognize the vital work nurses do worldwide and thank them for their dedication to their patients and professions.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
Mae West
DSIL is my favorite SIL, matter of fact he is my only SIL. I only have one daughter. But I have 6 DIL’s. Although I probably won’t be seeing him today, I did just get to see him this past Sunday. They live here in my hometown, so I get to see him often. But still a card will be sent out in the mail with lots of birthday wishes and love.
Honoring our nurses is especially good right now as they are putting their lives at risk for all of us as they work during this pandomenic. I know we just celebrated Nurses Day not long ago, but today’s holiday is a global one and I felt they were worth honoring again. I can’t say enough good about them.
The weatherman had some good news for us yesterday and said only 2 more days of this unusually cold weather and then we’ll have more summerlike days ahead for the unforseeable future. What good news. We’re quite tired of freezing. I got plants for Mothers Day and I’d like to be able to put them outdoors. But along with the warmth will also come rain for the weekend. No doubt, lawn mowing season will soon start. It already has for some.
It will feel so good to get out and not freeze. Good thing I’ve been getting my warm weather clothing out. It soon will be needed and I’ll be ready for it.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I'm thankful to have a wonderful DSIL !
Happy birthday to your DSIL! I know he and your daughter and grandson have been a blessing to you during this time. Glad it is warming up some for you. Good to enjoy the outside fresh air. I think nurses are true heroes any day but especially these days.

Happy Birthday blessings to your handsome SIL!
It's always a good time to honor our nurses. Honestly, I'm not sure I'd have the courage to be out there on the front lines. Glad to hear your weather's warming a bit. We're supposed to be in the 90's by week's end, but that's still preferable to what Betty and others are experiencing in Phoenix.
Happy ☺ Birthday 🎂
