ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR THURSDAY, MAY 7TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is the National Day of Prayer which is celebrated annually on the first Thursday of May. The theme of this year’s event is Love One Another. The National Day of prayer is all about getting together as a community to unify in public Prayer.
This holiday was established in 1952 by President Harry S. Tuman. In 1988 President Ronal Regan designated the first Thursday in May as the annual observance of The National Day of Prayer.
Celebrate today by joining in a virtual prayer session with a local church or with family and friends, or individually.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming convictions that I had no where else to go. My own wisdom and that all about me seemed insufficient for that day.
Abraham Lincoln
I believe that prayers work and they are always answered. Sometimes not the way we want, but there is also some benefits of unanswered prayers. Gods ways are different than our ways and He knows best what is needed.
I always feel privileged to pray for others and If you have a prayer request I’d be happy to pray and to publish your request in this newsletter so other can pray too. All you have to do is let me know, I won’t publish anything with out you’re ok.
I think that more and more people are praying these days as we are all faced with such uncertainty. I know I’m praying every day for the health and safety of my loved ones and so far they’ve all been answered. To date we are all safe and healthy. That is something to be thankful for. for sure ! Life is not easy and we need all the help we can get.
Today is grocery day here at my house. This week DD had offered to pick up what I need, Last week DS#5 and DD both did their share, What one couldn’t find, the other one did. I’m so blessed to have them shopping and delivering food to me. All I have to do is put it away when it gets here. They’ve done their fair share to make sure I’m staying home and keeping safe.
One thing on my list this week was some green peppers. I’’ve sausage in the freezer and wanted to make some sausage sandwiches with pepper and onions on them. That is what my recipe for today is. My sister happened to mention to me that her son always serves his grilled sausage with onions and peppers and that is what made me hungry for them.
Clasic Smoked Sausage and Pepper Sandwiches
1 lb package smoked sausage cut into sandwich size pieces
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 c. onion, sliced
2 c. red and green peppers, sliced
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese, optional
Saute sausage in a large skilled on medium high until evenly browned. Add olive oil, onion, peppers and oregano, cooking until tender.
Remove from heat and stir in Parmasan cheese.
Serve on toasted sausage rolls for a hearty meal. Kick up the heat with a few dashes of chili flakes.
Sometimes I like to let the onions and peppers simmer in some tomato sauce and serve that on top the sausage in the bun too. Then I’ll sprinkle them with some mozzarella cheese.
I’ve made up a bowl of macaroni salad and that with the sandwiches will be what’s for dinner tonight.
Today pictures are of DS#6 and his family as they went on a walk in the woods on one of the beautiful days we had this past weekend.
I hope you have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!

If the only prayer you said was Thank You, that would be enough.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Always say a prayer...it works !
Such a pretty hike you shared with us today Ma! Prayer indeed works! I am trying to pray for the people who are unemployed as I am processing paperwork with my temp job. So many sad stories out there. So good your children are taking care of you with shopping! I bet they will miss seeing you and giving you a hug on Mother's Day but I am sure they will send a virtual one to you.

A little while ago I concluded a Zoom prayer gathering with Pastor Janet and a few others … what a privilege to share our concerns with like-minded prayer warriors. And now, to have you offer to pray on our behalf is heartwarming. Thank you!
I'm going to share this recipe with Tom-- that sounds like something he'd really enjoy.
