ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, MAY 2ND, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Truffle Day which honors a deliciously sweet treat called the chocolate truffle.
Traditional, chocolatiers make this sweet confection with a chocolate ganache center coated in chocolate, icing and cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or coconut. They may fill the truffle with other yummy surprises. For example some candy makers include cream, melted chocolate, caramel, nuts, fruit, nougat, fudge, toffee, mint, marshmallow or liquor.
N. Petruccelli of Chambray France is believed to be the inventor of the chocolate truffle in December 1895. Truffes became much more prevalent in 1902 when the Prestat Chocolate Shop opened in London. Prestate still sells Napoleon III truffles made to the original recipe.
Celebrate today by making truffles or buy some at your favorite chocolate shop.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The 12 step chocolate program: Never be more than 12 steps away from chocolate.
Terry Moore
Truffles are a scrumptious chocolate treat but I’ve never made them on my own, so I found a recipe to try out and that is what I’m sharing today.
Easy Decadent Truffles
1 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
3 c. confectioners sugar
3 c. semisweet chocolate chips, melted
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in confectioners’ sugar until well blended. Stir in melted Chocolate and vanilla until no streaks remain. Refrigerate about 1 hour. Shape into balls.
Roll truffles in ground walnuts or cocoa, coconut, confectioners’ sugar. or candy sprinkles.
It’s supposed to be a really nice weekend here with temps around 70 degrees, but we also have a slight chance of showers or a stray thunderstorm. I think they’ll come more in the evening hours, so I’m hoping to get outside today and take a long walk around the community here. The yard work is done for now so I can just enjoy the nice weather.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

You look great with your mask, Ma!! Glad the weather is pleasant so you can enjoy outdoor time! That makes such a difference in one's moods I think! I love truffles!

I could sure go for a truffle right about now. :) This recipe sounds like the 'keto bombs' I've been hearing about.
Cute selfie … I like the way you're wearing your hair in that photo. Mine's about the same length now, and I'm considering letting it stay this length for a while longer.
