ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, MAY 29TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers which is a day to pay tribute to all the men and women who have served and continue to serve in United Nations peacekeeping operations for the high level of professionalism, dedication and courage and in honor of those who have lost their lives in the cause of peace.
The day is marked at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City with the presentation of the Dag Hammarskjold Medal, statements by the President of the General Assembly and the Secretary General a press release regarding the state of UN Peacekeeping missions and the necessity of their work.
Peacekeeping by the United Nations is role held by the Department of Peacekeeping Operations as a unique and dynamic instrument developed by the Organization as a way to help countries torn by conflict create the conditions of lasting peace. It is distinguished from both peace building and peacemaking.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
We are blessed to live in a country at peace. We’ve not had to live in a war torn world. I cannot imagine having to live every day in fear for my life. So many have lost their families and homes due to wars. I can’t help but be thankful that is something I’ve never experienced.
Being angry and holding grudges is a waste of time for me. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Please join me in praying for peace today and for the safety of our peacekeepers.
It’s hard to believe another week has ended. I haven’t done a lot, but I’ve done something and that’s better than nothing at all.
Peace be with you All.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
I have decided to stick with love. Hate is to great a burden to bear.
Martin Luther King Jr.
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
8147.for peace in our lives
8148, for the end of another week
8149 .for all peacekeepers
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it.
Eleanor Roosevelt
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Don't forget: Peace begins with a smile.... - Mother Teresa
How ironic and sad. So sad that on this remarkable day there's such bitter unrest taking place on the streets of Minneapolis. Throughout the world, too. Praying for peace!
Happy Friday, Ma!
We sang in chorus at HS that had some of these lines: Let there be peace on earth/Let it begin with me.
Susan beat me to the punch. Your post reminded me of that song, too.
Have a wonderful weekend, dear lady.
