ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Static Electricity Day which is a day to honor this unexpected, mostly unpleasant and sometimes hair raising phenomenon.
It is called static because the charge stays on the surface until it comes into contact with another surface with a negative charge. It can be created by rubbing an object against another. Some materials like wool and glass are more likely to have static electricity. Dry skin and hair also accumulate electricity charges. This is why people tend to experience shocks when they touch doorknobs or anything made of metal during the wintertime.Lightning is a natural example of when sparks are discharged due to the buildup of static electricity.
It’s winter, the air is dry and it’s time to celebrate the wonders of Static Electricity. It’s bound to be a shocking day! Snap, Crackle and Pop!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Electricity is really just organized lightning.
George Carlin
When I took my laundry out of the dryer yesterday I got a shock. Clothes were clinging to each other and when I tried to pull them apart, I got a shock from the electricity in them. So I looked up what I might do to prevent it from happening again. The best answer that I got was to add vinegar to my rinse cycle in the washer. Another was to stop using a clothes dryer, but that is not going to happen. Ha !
They also said that fabric softener sheets in the dryer should help. Dryer sheets have to do with balancing the electrons with the ions. They are positively charged so they equalize the electrons to prevent static. I keep learning new things everyday.
I did already know that vinegar is fabulous for making towels softer when you put it in the rinse cycle, so now I know that it will help with static electricity too. Vinegar has many uses and all good it seems.
It’s mid week once more and the good news is that Christmas is now put away. I still have a lot of cleaning and organizing to do though. Maybe by the end of the week, things will be looking a whole lot better.
Yesterday morning was like a Spring day here with temps in the mid 50’s and a morning thunderstorm, that left puddles everywhere. That is what the pictures are of today. Today is to be colder with a high of 31 they say and snow flurries are to be expected. What a difference a day makes. Winter is still here, and will continue for quite awhile yet.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity; it must be produced and discharged and used up in order to exist at all.
William Faulkner
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6685. for electricity, it can be both good and also shocking
6686. for a clothes dryer, no clothes lines here
6687. for vinegar, all good
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Enthusiasm is the electricity of life. How do you get it? You act enthusiastic until you make it a habit.
Gordon Parks
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

No matter the weather, always bring your own sunshine!
How fortunate you are with your weather. We had a wild storm here on Monday and expect another one tomorrow! Oh well! If it does come, I'll be home tucked safely away. Cheers, MA!
I haven't gotten shocked in a bit but I remember the time hubby and me kissed and we got shocked. That was an unusual experience, LOL. I didn't know that about adding vinegar in the rinse cycle. I'll have to try it. We had a nice day yesterday, bright and sunny and about 72 for the high. Felt good after the "cold" weather we had last week.

Ta-dah! … I had to step away and add vinegar to my shopping list! There's lots to love, but I didn't know about using it to soften my towels. Thanks!
PS - Great minds, you and Terri. The first of her Wednesday Medley questions addresses Static Electricity Day!
A shiny puddle and a patch of snow. Great como.
We might have some rain today!
I absolutely hate getting shocked!!! I used to use hair spray on my skirts in the winter to deal with the static electricity....
