ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Twelfth Night or the 12th day of Christmas which is celebrated on the eve of Epiphany. The last and final day of Christmas. It’s been a celebration since Victorian England to celebrate the end of Christmas on Twelfths Night, taking down the evergreens of Christmas season and when life returns to normal.
Twelfth Night parities are celebrated all around the world. In Ireland it’s considered bad luck to take down the holiday trimmings before December 6th which is also called Little Christmas. On the eve of of the Epiphany family usually prepare a large dinner to make an end of the holiday season.
In Italy La befana is a tradition where the main piazzas host fun activities for the children and in Venice locals believe La befana arrives every year by boat bringing gifts for children. La befana is is believed to have followed the wise men but got lost and drops off presents.
However you celebrate, have a joyful Twelfth Night!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
On the Twelfth Day of Christmas, My True Love Gave to Me:
Twelve Drummers Drumming!
For today’s gift I have a recipe to share for oven baked chicken drumsticks.
Oven Baked Drumsticks
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
6 chicken drumsticks
1/4 butter, melted
Heat oven to 425 degrees.
Mix flour salt, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper in a bowl. Dip chicken drumsticks into butter, roll in flour mixture to coat.. Arrange in a foil lined square pan, 8 by 8 inches.
Bake uncovered until done, about 50 minutes
Twelfth Night is celebrated on the eve of Epiphany which is tomorrow, Sunday, December 6th and is a day I always celebrate. This evening is also called the little Christmas when parties take place and gifts are given.
Here at my house I’ll begin but certainly not finish, taking the decorations down. It’s a slow process for me and I’m in no hurry at all. The nativity set remains set up with Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus, along with the Three Wise Men until after tomorrow..
The house always looks sorta blah when all the decorations are packed away. And after the packing there will be a lot of cleaning and organization to be done. I’m trying to take pictures of the gifts I’ve received for Christmas so I can put them away too and that is what the pictures are of today.
I have a new computer, that is a gift that will keep on giving and is pictured above. I even got a gift certificate from Amazon to use and I purchased a computer cover, a keyboard cover and a new mouse pad using the gift card. The gifts seem to be endless. I got so much from my children, grandchildren and family and friends. Thank you all so very much! There is actually even more that aren’t in the pictures so I’ll continue with them tomorrow.
I got an Echo Dot and Alexia is now on hand to answer all my questions too. I have new note pads and a special hand cream made from goats milk and holiday coffee. Too much to mention, but that the pictures will hopefully show.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

I hope you all have enjoyed my 12 days of Christmas and my gift of recipes. I do believe it is better to give than to receive, and what we give always comes back to us too.
You got some lovely gifts Ma! Have fun with Alexa and asking the questions you might have. I did enjoy the recipes you shared over the 12 days of Christmas. Hard to imagine its been 12 days since that special day. These chicken drumsticks look delicious too!

What wonderful gifts, Pam! You're certainly blessed! I hope your 12th Night observance is a pleasurable time.
We're off in a bit to a funeral. A good opportunity to reflect on all the blessings I've been given and not take a single day for granted.
You know, you can always leave out a snowman decoration if you want to, it is winter decoration, not a Christmas one! (I might have been known to do this! I need something cheerful to look at during the winter days!)
Love the sound of the drumstick recipe and the photos of your gifts! x
It does always look a bit naked once all the decorations come down. You got some lovely presents there Pam! Your family must think the world of you. No surprise there! Your recipe for today sounds delicious! xoxo
