ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Pharmacist Day which has been set aside to honor all those pharmacists also known as chemist or druggist, who are known as healthcare professionals who practice pharmacy, the field of health sciences focused on safe and effective medication use. The role of the phamrcacist has shifted from the role of simply being a dispenser to being an integrate part of the health care team directly involved in patient care.
Pharmacists undergo university level education to understand biochemical mechanisms of action of drugs, drug uses, and therapeutic roles, side effects, potential drug interactions and monitoring parameters. Pharmacists interpret and communicate this specialized knowledge to patients, physicians and other health care providers.
It’s a day to show appreciation for the contribution pharmacists make to our health care.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If you have health, you probably will be happy, and if you have health and happiness, you have all the wealth you need, even if it is not all you want.
Elbert Hubbard
At this point in my life I’ve never had to have much interaction with pharmacists, but I do realized just how valuable they are to our health care. I don’t take much medication at all. My daily aspirin and vitamins come over the counter and right now they are all I take. I’m very thankful that for the most part I enjoy good health. Our local pharmacy also provides flu shots, and I do get one there every year. This year for the first time I also got a pneumonia shot too.
Our health is one thing we should never take for granted. Most of us only appreciate it when we get sick. Having good health is a blessing and I am very thankful for it.
One thing I know for sure, we all get older every day, and as I’ve aged, I’ve learned to be more appreciative for what I have and whine less about what I don’t have. Being thankful has become a way of life for me. I’ve learned not to take things for granted and appreciate all I have.
It’s the weekend and time to take things easy. I no longer go to work, but do some work every day here at home. Weekends, for me, are meant to be enjoyed. When I worked Saturday’s used to mean doing all those things at home that I didn’t have time for due to work. Now I have plenty of time.
I’ve left a few of my snowmen up to decorate the house for January and that is what my pictures are of today.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
There is nothing that can have a more powerful effect on your mental health than the spirit of thankfulness.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

Make it a great day!
That's great Ma that you don't take any medications! I don't either yet and hope to avoid them for as long as I can. I type patient reports where some are on 20 plus medicines every day! It is good that you got the pneumonia shot. I know my hubby is thinking about getting one sometime soon.

What a blessing that you are so healthy!! And that you know how blessed you are is wonderful.
Louis Dean and I are healthy for the most part but we each have several medications to take daily to keep us that way. We are truly grateful for the pharmacists. We used Sam's in Dallas some years ago because we loved Tony the pharmacist so much. He got to know us and we had confidence in him. Both of us taking medicine every day can get complicated. When he left there we moved our business to the Sam's in Irving and stayed with them for a good while. But it was a bit of a drive to go up there and so we moved to Walgreens up the street from us. They have an app that makes refilling Rx musch easier and we can get our medicine down here in Waco without it getting too complicated. I take filling our pill boxes seriously. Once I gave Louis Dean a sleeping pill every morning as soon as he woke up for two weeks! I mistook it for him Rampril (heart medicine) and they had changed manufacturers. Oops!
I love your Snowmen for winter! It's already turning green down here in the country!
What a deserving bunch, our pharmacists! My BF's niece is a relatively-new pharmacist; and oh my word, the stressful conditions she must endure every day.
In the last few years I've come to depend on them for answers I'd be reluctant to 'bother' my doctor with. I'll never forget the one to advised me to always swallow my cough medicine with a big glass of water. All my life, I'd been afraid to drink anything for fear of 'washing' away the meds. So embarrassed, but he had a good laugh about it.
As we both have to take prescriptions, I am so thankful for our pharmacists. My husband uses mail order services and it once took 5 months to get approval for one. I go to CVS, and get to talk to the pharmacist who can contact the Dr.
You are not the first blogger who has had problems with WordPress or others. They can always get through Google. Don't know why.
